There has been absolutely no research I can find that explores if autists are more likely to be vegan or vegetarian than the general population. I find this extraordinary. If you are autistic, (either clinically or self diagnosed) are you vegan? #Autism #autistic #neurodiverse @autistics@fedigroups.social #ActuallyAutistic #vegan #VeganFood #AnimalRights

Last night I had a tofu steak that was marinated in soy sauce & miso coated in cornflour to make it super crispy cooked with field mushrooms and black fungus, served with baby broccoli and jasmine rice.
#WhatVegansEat #vegan
I seasoned the mushrooms, broccolini and tofu with ⅛ teaspoon of monosodium glutamate to enhance the flavour and the difference it makes is astounding. Prejudice against MSG is racist and not science based - get yourself a bag and try it!

Some American dude suggested the 1954 Alistair Sims version on tiktok and I watched it. Eventually you watch 'An inspector calls' from your GCSE 1988 syllabus.

I'm watching videos on Londonscreenarchive.org.uk and the Jolly Cockney pub on black Prince road was changed to the Jolly Gardeners at some point in the last 53 years. I'm amazed the posh culture warriors at reform aren't outraged (but as they don't actually follow history they wouldn't even know).

I am finding the story of #JasonArday really tragic. It looks likely he was bullied into suicide by (mostly) the right wing UK press, despite the fact that autists are 9x more likely to kill themselves than the average person, and suicide is the second most common cause of death for autistics. https://www.theguardian.com/uk-news/2026/aug/14/jason-arday-found-dead-after-resigning-from-cambridge-over-plagiarism-claims?CMP=Share_AndroidApp_Other #Autism #autistic #neurodiverse @autistics@fedigroups.social #AutisticBurnout #ActuallyAutistic

I looked at a couple of recipes online and I've realised that #vegan Dauphinoise potatoes with spinach, using cashew cream and some vegan cheese would be quite easy, and really delicious. I'm going to make it in the next couple of days.

Everyone's whining about potholes on Victoria's roads. I don't see political parties suggesting getting freight off the roads and onto rail to reduce the wear on them. Trucks produce vastly more damage than cars, never mind bicycles.

At some point in time I would like to live in a country that I don't think is morally shit as an entity.
The only easy, legal, options are Wales and Eire.
I acknowledge my fucking Roaring loud privilege. Look at me with my fancy arse passports.

Whenever I see a politician talk about "common sense" it irritates me. It just means they can't make a reasoned argument, or point to any evidence to support their point. They just have a biased opinion and don't even realise.

At the rate of growth Count Binface has seen between his last two elections, 0.2 at Makerfield and 26.93 in #Clacton - 13,365% it now seems inevitable Bins will win every democratic election in the world.
I for one, welcome our totally rubbish overlords.

A bunch of brands sell "deli style chips" which is hilarious, because no delicatessen in Australia makes their own potato crisps. These brands can ask fuck off with their bullshit marketing.

I just did numerous searches on duck duck go and Google to try and find any surveys that have ever been done about party political preferences and voting choices amongst disabled people. I can't find any. Considering that disabled people and spending on our lives is often an issue in elections this feels like a massive oversight.

I think you're doing a disservice to vegans if you produce a book with recipes that include "six slices of bacon sliced into strips and also use smoked "40g grated parmesan (optional)"
Presumably you're meant to understand and use alternatives. Oh. The fucking chef isn't even vegan. Career chefs trying to use politics for business. Fuck off. #vegan

The scary part of near 5 star reviews of Uber drivers is that these people don't know how close to death they are with them.
They also usually brake too late and too hard. It suggests they aren't looking into the distance to work out when they might need to stop. They are just looking at the car ahead and reacting to that when it is about 10 metres ahead.

I remember in the mid eighties seeing a group based in London that was campaigning for the independence of the Baltic states from the Soviet Union. I thought, do they really think a few people are going to be able to alter the position of an actual superpower? It wasn't them specifically, but they got there within 6-7 years. And yes, I was an unusual teenager.

If you want affordable housing and food and jobs for people, a reasonable choice is the Socialist Party. However, I will be voting for The Animal Justice Party. You'll vote for them if you like animals. Actually like animals. Or humans. And want them all to live. They don't exclude any of the Socialists ideas.
Please read all the manifestos.

One of my minor victories in life is convincing my children that homemade pizza should have a lot of tomato paste on its base. I once had a friend visiting who complained mildly that it was too tomatoey and my kids have also said there wasn't enough tomato on a shop bought pizza.
If you have tiny children, use this one simple hack to get more phytochemicals, obviously lycopene, into them, hopefully for the rest of their life.

I just looked at my bag of salt (which was the cheapest salt at the supermarket). It's 99% sodium chloride, so why be fussy, but I can imagine "naturally evaporated sea salt from the Southern Ocean", the least peopled and maybe the cleanest sea in the world as a premium product elsewhere.

I had a nightmare last night where every time I blinked and looked again something had changed, for example a copy of myself was standing completely still a few metres ahead of myself, or a locked door would be half open. I had goose pimples from the creepiness of it everytime something happen and was glad to be awake.

I was just thinking- I haven't taken my SSRI for a few days, and I want to die. It's funny, they are marketed as "anti depressants" but are they actually 'stop you from suicide' pills? What is the percentage of people on these drugs in advanced capitalist nations again?

I just had a taste of an off brand sancerre (Sauvignon blanc from the loire valley) and it instantly transported me 30 years. I used to drink a lot of French wine in the early 90s, but now I drink the local stuff. Australian wine is very good, but a different thing from French.

It is rare I'll say a Tory is doing the right thing. But Andrew Hastie correctly took the stand in a court of law to give evidence in a war crimes case, but has been branded a 'traitor' by One Nation. Whatever you think of people who sign up for armed forces, they are clearly brave and patriotic, unlike fascists who often hate many aspects of their own country.
