"I sent you to buy cat food"
"Yes"
"Then why is there a commodore in your backseat?"
"Yes"
Ok, I definitely won't go on with my computer kit today.
Ahhh there's no time like the present to study some #objectivec
Actually to refresh it.
I was using it at my first job, when I was still young and I had the illusion of purpose in life.
Why am I doing it? No idea.
Had a friend coming over. He's been away for a few years, and was passing nearby, so we met for a quick chat. Had some catching up to do on our life things.
Asked me if I'm still a dev or what is my role now.
I reflected a bit on it. And maybe it was the beer.
But the summary of my current job was "I act as a lubricant: we have lots of moving parts that we need to fit together correctly, by different people, and I work to reduce the friction".
Now the alcohol effect has worn off and I'm left with the crude realization.
#TauntingBoard has finally been released!
It's an #Apple2 #MockingBoard clone(ish) with a few changes I'd dare call improvements.
It's free for everyone: print it, build it, enjoy it.

Thanks for #PCBWay for sponsoring not one, but two prototype runs for this board!
Boost if you wish (appreciated!) and/or donate a few credits via Ko-Fi if you want and have some to spare (Not essential, but they'll be used to help pay for components for future projects: believe me, they're helpful, vet expenses are eating away most of disposable income lately).
Preliminary test of the MTU motherboard with one of my KIM-1 clones.
No smoke => good
KIM-1 responsive => even better
so I've started building the first two boards that will be plugged into it.
Fever gone for now. Brought old cat back to the vet for a post operation checkup and now back in business.
I'm routing a new version of the MiSCUSI.
This uses the 53C80 and replaces the 74LS133 with ICs that are more readily available.
I also moved a few things around for a better clearance.
Let's hope I did not fuck it up.
Office day today.
At the third email in the vein of "I made this analysis in Gemini, please check if correct" a colleague noticed my expression and felt compelled to take a photo of my "utter desperation" as he put it.
Uuurgh. AliExpress package with components for the MTU KIM-1 motherboard has been handed to a new delivery center.
This is not going to end well...
Tomorrow I'll start filling in the mouser cart for with (some of) the components required for the KIM-I build.
You can start betting on what I'll forget.
The 2nd hand shop where I found the commodore also had a small selection of speakers. I got these ones, all 8 ohm.
Could come in handy for a future build of some kind. The small ones are particularly pretty I think.
I'll wire one up to the Tauntingboard to test.
