hko 😷🪁

@Remittancegirl@mstdn.social The production quality of the video makes the poverty cosplay aspect particularly wild. The whole thing feels extremely movie-like - which I'm sure is the point.

@arstechnica@mastodon.social maybe they will find the guy who did this, in the end! We should have faith in the process 🤞

@lina It's good to see there's pushback. And apparently also on mastodon.social, where the new post has again disappeared

@Nickiquote@mstdn.social Looks both virile and also pretty intimidating to me 🤷

@mivox 😎

@VoltPaperScissors very cool project, and beautiful looking lights

@mattblaze@federate.social I think it's a reasonable strategy to get advice from people at the top of a field, if one wants to get more proficient in the same domain ... 🤷 ?

@mattblaze holy cow, what a disgrace. Of course not your part in it - but all other parts.

@robotwig damn! That is amazing! Both the final image, and to see how it's been done

@skinnylatte@hachyderm.io I'm "yes, please!". All the encouragement!

@parismarx@mastodon.online I'll link Dr. Timnit Gebru's thread into this, for anyone who wants to read a more critical take: https://dair-community.social/@timnitGebru/116636561804311905 (I'm sure Paris is aware of the thread, but not everyone else is, I assume)

@ErickaSimone@mastodon.social @WPalant@infosec.exchange ugh. That law is a disgrace, and it's not good to see it applied. I couldn't easily find an english text about the law, but https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vorbereiten_des_Aussp%C3%A4hens_und_Abfangens_von_Daten is a german language text about it.

@Gargron@mastodon.social As a general observation, I think asking for "civility" is often the equivalent of a "code smell": Sure, there are cases where it may be appropriate in the current context. However, I suspect that more often than not, it's a sign that one is brushing aside some oppression-related complaint (often from a position of relative power in the situation). I think it's a good idea to always pause before writing about "civility", and let the matter bounce around in one's head for a while.

@vox@mk.absturztau.be that (second) post is now gone again, reason unclear to me. The m.s account still exists though.
