Also yesterday I learned a colleague of mine has left teaching physics and is studying at a local (to him) community college to become a paramedic! Totally blew me away! He's an award winning physics instructor (non-PhD like me) with even some NASA grants under his belt and decided to do something new. Makes me feel great about taking the job at the diner as a side hustle. #ITeachPhysics #Careers

@dantheclamman I'm in my fifth year of retirement and I look back on things I accomplished and say to myself, “Did I really do that? Oh yeah...I did.”

@panic@social.panic.com I’m presently trying NOVA for my LaTeX work and I really love it. I’m using Marco Varisco’s extension.

@meatlotion @erici Sometimes I think we'd be better off ditching the WWW and going back to BBSs.
Do you have a copy of the original 1973 hardback edition of MTW's Gravitation you're willing to part with? I will give it a good home in my library. I have the softcover edition and the 2017 hardback edition, but can't find a copy of the original hardcover edition. It has sentimental value to me. Thanks! #ITeachPhysics #Physics #MTW #Gravitation

@lexiconista@mastodon.ie Sure, except they hold all the power in higher education in this country. Besides, I have thirty years of teaching experience and I would not tolerate some inexperienced researcher telling me about teaching. I’ve learned how to learn so I can learn anything I want to learn.
