Use another forge then. This change was a decision by the members (most of whom finance #codeberg with their membership fees), and made with a large majority. LLMs may not go away but you better start accepting the opposition to them because it ain't going nowhere either.
I don't really care how cool #Apple's #MacbookNeo is, and how much it triggers your 80/90-ies kid nostalgia for a simpler time in computers. All I see is you shilling for the biggest corporation on the planet whose CEO is actively aligning himself with a fascist government. That's all I need to know. Your fluffy 1000 word endorsement is just as political as your financial support for that company, as is your ignorance and denial of this connection. None of it exists in a vacuum.

Da baut ein Staat einen signifikanten Teil seiner Wirtschaft (lies: seines Arbeitsmarkts) um einen einzigen börsennotierten Konzern und seine Zuliefererindustrie auf und dann werden dessen Anteile von Akteuren gekauft, denen es einzig um den Erhalt des Status Quo geht, egal wie sehr dieser ein Auslaufmodell ist.
Damit hätte niemand rechnen können.

I'm looking for examples/papers/essays/anything that, in your opinion, perfectly exemplifies the detrimental impact of AI use for learning and critical thinking—specifically (but not exclusively) regarding software engineering or in IT.
Context: I've been asked to give a short introduction on the topic of #AI as part of group discussion within my team. The discussion will center around how we, as a software team, can (learn how to) use AI to ImPrOvE PrOdUcTiViTy (sigh, I know). The people organizing the discussion are riding the hype train pretty hard and the org is pushing heavily for it, so my explicit intent is to create space for critical/opposing thoughts/voices. I have about 15 minutes, so I want to use the time wisely. I won't be able to make a complete case on what garbage we're dealing with but at least make a point of not staying silent.

For all of you doom-scrollers out there: I can highly recommend getting obsessed with a new hobby instead. For me, it's modular synthesizers. A friend put me up to it a couple weeks ago, and I have not spent this little time on social media in years. It's been glorious.

I'm currently on an iPhone myself, and awkwardly embedded in the ecosystem. But it will certainly be the last device I buy from Apple (or US big tech for that matter).
