Instance of hansup, a rusty hubot mostly making art since last century, living together with wonderful silly people, mumbling to the universe, using a square screen, running my last rounds.
All art is decorative, for your wall, screen or ego.

Since I kicked all my streaming accounts out, I dusted off the CDs I still have. I also for the first time since 15 years stepped in the local recordshop. The fact that all the music on sale was not mine and I could not buy it all at once, was super refreshing. The value of collecting as a balanced act between what you want and can afford, reappeared. As a youngster I have spent such great times doing just that. Why/How was I tricked in that streaming nonsense?

There are just too many! Not able to make a selection. Also a bit strange to see this collection back. I will leave them to the care of my brother and rather start from scratch together with my dear partner in all crimes. We have 2 LP’s now: Dark side of the moon (Pink Floyd) and All melody (Nils Frahm) Two save choices to begin with.:)

@tomjennings@tldr.nettime.org @mhoye@cosocial.ca The person I tried to help switched to debian, but still was stuck on wifi problem.
Then somebody else showed up and fixed it immediately… with Claude.
Of course now he is totally impressed by Claude.
He won’t ask me for any help anymore, I guess.
Result: I convinced someone to switch to Linux and ditch Microsoft, but AI took advantage to present itself in the best conditions… 🧐🙃

@tomjennings@tldr.nettime.org @mhoye@cosocial.ca Thanks for your feedback.
For the moment the person is falling back on an ethernet cable...
It's a huge hurdle where you really need to learn a whole lot all at once to try to understand even the basics of that damned Broadcom thing.
The difference between broadcom-sta-dkms and bcmwl-kernel-source, ... etc...
Forums and sites are fine, but it's hard to navigate all these people suggesting different 'solutions' while they themselves are struggling to understand...

Not aiming for a large I-want-all-records-of-all-my-favourite-artist. Just a few is already fine. Being in the last rounds of my life, I don’t want to keep stacking stuff. On the contrary. If I am the last one breathing, I hope to end my last days in a hotel with excellent daily service and no personal stuff other than a clean suit and s music instrument to improvise for my own demons.

Got speakers and amp. Tomorrow I go to the place where the hundreds of LP’s of my dad are waiting to be rediscovered.

The point is that I can’t think of a single thing in any context where AI could improve my personal life. Not one.

@anildash@me.dm Is it so black and white? Things are definitively changing in a big way. But isn't there a large playing field between full evil AI and no AI? The AI hype is definitively super cringe, hilarious and dangerous in many ways. But radical opposition doesn't seem to be very helpful. In real life many of us do not have the privilige to say simply NO to AI. Maybe not an endgame, but another level where we should try to keep on playing and deal with & tame any kind of new monster.

@Tutanota@mastodon.social Thanks for reminding. I am afraid these toggles are just make believe. They have your data on their servers and already used it for Gemini crap behind the scenes. And none of the alternatives is safe as long as billions of people continue to use gmail blindly. Every mail you sent/receive to/from gmail is a door wide open. No other option then to block all traffic from gmail accounts.

Today I explored 6 different record shops all very close to each other in the city center. Didn’t buy anything, just flipped through records. And observed the general vibe in these shops. Lot’s of different types of visitors. Really need to narrow down my new interest in records. Too much choice! :-) Lucky the prices are pretty high. Selection comes automatically, just like I was a teenager.

A while ago I found out with the generous help of @nex@chaos.social that there were 5520 possible combinations for my 8 piece puzzle.

As I am figuring out how to print them all out and was aiming for a square format, I landed on 16 x 345. Which means all possibilities in 16 sheets! And 16 = 4x4! :)
Thinking to create a booklet in the formfactor of a LP sleeve.

How to send an automatic complaint about to many low flying airplanes above an densely populated city.
This site has the traffic data:

https://www.batc.be/en/air-traffic/flight-radar

Based on the location and the height of the passing airplanes I want to send an automatic complaint message to email addresses of the responsible people (politicians and profiteering capitalists)

People in our neighbourhood suffer from the noise and pollution.

An email gun might help to put some necessary pressure…

All things AI getting worse everyday. Not a surprise since only people with bad intentions seem still interested. It’s much worse than last century. Fascists took over technology, tech billionaires are openly fascist. It drives me away from all things digital or technology in a larger sense. I might return to drawing or painting because the negative vibe around computers/technology is such that I am sad/afraid/ashamed to say I use computers to make art like stuff.

RE: https://mastodon.social/@SteveRudolfi/116279083767770070 Another reason why I am totally ok with blocking google from indexing my web site. I simply don’t want to be found in a pile of trash. SEO is the most overrated stupid and highly toxic thing ever invented for the web. Let it all sink away in the growing, stinking blop of ai and ad driven corpo slop. Haven’t touched anything from google since over 10 years. Every single product is pure malware.

Welllllll this isn't great. Google Just Patented The End Of Your Website "...a system that evaluates your company’s landing page in real time and, if it decides the page won’t perform well enough for a specific user, replaces it with an AI-generated version assembled on the fly. The user never sees what your team built, they see what Google's machine learning model thinks they should see instead." https://www.forbes.com/sites/joetoscano1/2026/03/06/google-just-patented-the-end-of-your-website #SEO #Google #AI #enshittification
