@gedeonm@mastodon.social I grew up watching TOS reruns and read all the books. When I watched that first TNG episode and heard "where no *one* has gone before" I was rocked. I had no idea how much that would mean to me. Still gives me goosebumps and makes me smile.

I made the screaming lizard coaster thing. Several friends have requested one. A catalog the size of a coffee table book arrived in the mail addressed to me and I'm at a complete loss as to why. It's from a luxury home furnishing and design place and y'all, my house is done in early American yard sale. The last "new" piece I bought for myself was an amazing desk from an office resale place.

Is there a metric more meaningless than US Women's clothing sizes (generally size 2 - 18)? If someone asks what size I wear I have to ask "what type of clothing?". And "what store"? And "what brand?". Even t-shirts suffer the same problem. I have t-shirts from size S to XXL. They all fit. Every day. If I'm buying online and they don't list the measurements of the article of clothing, I can't buy it because WHO KNOWS.
