"oh cool a big bethesda sale on steam!"
"...wait a minute... didn't a BUNCH of bethesda workers, some of them extremely long-time contributors, get laid off like a month ago, despite making some incredibly successful and widely beloved games?...."
oh cool...
didn't get the job i was feeling really optimistic about,
found out they had >1000 applicants for their tiny little company's job listing, and while i made it to the final round with only a few other applicants... over... a thousand... for a small company who pretty much put a job listing on linkedin and that's it. they needed no advertising or name recognition to get a thousand applicants
this fills me with dread when i think of doing more applications...
anyone have a starter linocut tools kit (& paint) they recommend? thinking of trying some small scale stuff for fun :)
i swear i have a target on me that tells people to single me *specifically* out as "the problem" like 90% of the time, even when I'm *very certain that it's not me*. A guy literally threw a game we were about to win because he decided *I* wasn't healing him enough. ME SPECIFICALLY. when I was the only one who even *attempted* to help him out and he was trying to be up in the enemy spawn. like what the hell? doesn't matter what role I'm playing, how well i'm doing
for star wars day, some Andor studies I did back in 2022
repost from my old account. I keep meaning to touch this up and make a sticker of it

artfight attack number twooo is for my pal ocicat-art.bsky.social
what if Ceadwy was in Project Hail Mary, seeing the Petrova particles lit up over Adrian?
i've got my artbot 'sona but wound up making a little IRL self-representation today
seeeee here's how my brain talks myself out of doing things:
me: wow i did my first artfight attack! not as good as i wanted, but i've been in a rut lately and it's chill, for a friend. nice!
brain: hmm i think we can do a little better
me: wow i did my second attack! it turned out great! i like it! they love it!
brain: yes. acceptable. now do *better*
me: wh... what
lesson for competitive gamers (... aside from a bunch of the obvious lessons like it "being just a game" and "the need to chill out")
you can't play for the team/composition you *wish* you had, you gotta play for the one you got. "If only somebody else did X..." NOPE gonna stop ya there. the only variable you control is *you* and learning to play in sub-optimal situations is literally how you get good (and winning a lot but only in optimal situations isn't "being good" it's "being lucky")
new #StarsLightOurPath today! why are we even here?
raa my tiny photo/sticker printer is hereeeee it's so cool
i don't have a good pic yet but I did some stickers for my work ID badge and they came out *so incredibly good*
don't worry people, the blood money is going to general core development, not anything specifically related to the blood money generating machine, so this is chill and good actually /s
some recent #StarsLightOurPath panels that I liked (sans dialogue) and a little bonus silly sketch that ended up being the basis for the second panel
#StarsLightOurPath update: some art block happened, some vacation times happened. this week I'm working on some planning and arting and wanna get a couple pages lined up to get us back on track :D
RE: @j_bertolotti@mathstodon.xyz
i think this points many folks to the conclusion that "mastodon has a discovery problem" if you have to work to find people... but that's kind of simplistic. whenever discovery features are added, a lot of people here don't want to participate in them! because they're good at finding their own people and want to not be easily indexed/scraped/"found" by all sorts of automated means.
there's a different mindset at work here and that's not a bad thing. some folks won't ever gel with that though

continually feeling like the decision to (finally, FINALLY) upgrade from 8gb of ram was a really good one. I feel like I can actually do two things on my computer at once now
