Which, umm, no?

So now this completely discards artistic intent, and replaces all game characters with fake instagram influencers?</p><p>Is it just me?</p><p><a href="https://www.nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/dlss5-breakthrough-in-visual-fidelity-for-games/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener" translate="no"><span class="invisible">https://www.</span><span class="ellipsis">nvidia.com/en-us/geforce/news/</span><span class="invisible">dlss5-breakthrough-in-visual-fidelity-for-games/</span></a></p> @aras@mastodon.gamedev.place I love it how it deforms that "CIGARETTES LOTTO" sign at the top left. 👌👌👌👌 THAT's the AI we all come to love and expect!

It seems unlikely it would get rid of all the fog and the people with umbrellas and get the perfect background without them although it's definitely trying to get rid of fog/haze and shadows in _every_ shot they show, and just adding whole extra key lights for the heck of it @rygorous@mastodon.gamedev.place @aras@mastodon.gamedev.place Maybe so, but I still find it very funny! Like all those faux PS1 style modern games that semi-randomly deform the polygons as you walk, now a feature in AAA games!

Open post ggn @ggn@mastodon.gamedev.place · 2mo ago Replying to @loke@functional.cafe As much as I am a fan of the idea of Flatpak, and how I believe it's the only practical way for regular users to operate a Linux system, this is not a good UI experience. Which Thunderbird am I supposed to install? Clicking on them, the two first are from "Thunderbird Project", while the third (as well as Betterbird) are from "MZLA Technologies, part of the Mozilla foundation". I think the latter is the right one to install, but how would a user not deep into this stuff know what to choose? @loke@functional.cafe I still have a sour taste in my mouth from my failed attempt at adding the 68k assembler I maintain (at the request of one of my users) to Flatpak. Never again, and won't use their software because of it.
