GOG Galaxy on Linux in active development
For quite some time, GOG has distributed Linux clients for many of their games. While many of them are games wrapped in a native build of DOSbox, there are a number of titles with actual Linux support.

You Don’t Look Like a Gamer: On Toxicity, Gatekeeping, and Women Who Share Their Gaming Lives Online
> There’s often a reaction that appears whenever women publicly share that they play games. It’s not always overt hostility. Sometimes it’s framed as jokes, disbelief, or mild condescension. Other times it slips into something more direct: questioning authenticity, mocking interest, or redirecting attention away from the person...

Stepping Away from Streaming with the Snowsky Echo Digital Audio Player
> I’ve already spent some time stepping away from streaming with another digital audio player, but the Snowsky Echo sits in a slightly different space. Where something like the Innioasis Y1 leans heavily into affordable nostalgia as a concept, the Echo feels more like an attempt to refine it, to...
Hands-on with the Retroid Pocket 6; The 8GB Sweet Spot
> When I opened the box for the Retroid Pocket 6, the color was the first thing that caught my attention. Retroid had sent over the ‘Light Purple’ variant for me to review, and it immediately reminded me of the shade used on the Lilac Purple versions of the Sony PSP.
I had a breakfast sandwich and large coffee from Starbucks w/ heavy cream this morning. I looked at the sandwich, looked at the coffee, and checked my CGM reading. Then just kinda instinctively knew I needed to take 6 units of insulin to get back to the baseline my doctor wants me at.
So I dosed and forgot about it. Checked my reading two and a half hours after breakfast and I was within 5% of where I thought I would be!

Ranking Every Star Trek Movie by its Main Theme

I used to think that Gul Dukat and Donald Trump were great analogs for each other. But now I realize Trump's just that belligerent old man on the Bajoran Moon who refused to leave.
“Would You Kindly?” A BioShock Retrospective
> A spiritual successor to System Shock 2 and helmed by Ken Levine of Irrational Games, BioShock tells a compelling narrative. It's the kind of story that only a video game could tell, an irony only a ludonarrative could illustrate, and a warning we should've heeded a long time ago.

Wolf Alice. Their early punk stuff goes so hard. Their later shoegazer is nostaligic AF. Their modern art rock is beautiful. They're a great band and I highly recommend them!

How the hell do you build a user experience for people who are 100% truly and completely ignorant about computers?
I have a client with an employee who *refuses to remember his username and password.* I get emails at least once a month saying "he can no longer access the portal."
"Why not?" I ask.
"Not sure," with a screenshot saying they input the wrong username/password.
So I have to log in, reset their password and send it to them. I've tried forcing them to set their own password...
Tomorrow I am publishing my BioShock retrospective on The Bryant Review. This has been over a month in the making and I'm genuinely nervous to see how it will be received.
Along with the article, I'm publishing a new episode of @thebryantreview@podcast.subscribeto.me, a @gardiner_bryant@subscribeto.me video, and YouTube version as well.
