Lately we get signup requests from AI agents. Not even real people creating AI music. We have been refusing them to sign-up on open.audio. We want to listen to music made by humans and support their work and artistic sensibility. With Funkwhale we want to support real musicians and we don't want support the waste of resources for AI generated slop. We wanted to be transparent about this and know what our users think. What is your opinion?

@kraftnix@noc.social we didn't implemented such a tool, the old artists will be migrated has a single artist. If you are interested @petitminion@mamot.fr can drive the efforts to build a migration command that will parse the artist string and create multiple artists when needed.

@Efrem_C_79@mastodon.social I don't know about instances allowing big amount of space. Space cost money, so unless you're willing to pay I don't think you will find a solution. Note that a vps cost 5e/month and you can use s3 storage, so around 10e/month you can have Funkwhale running for you and your friend with 1to of memory.

We could also think at Funkwhale to offer more space based on monthly or year donations on our instance (open.audio). Should be easy to do.
