I draw things! Very, very NSFW. I use content warnings on my posts (and try to avoid boosting nsfw posts without them).

Expect furry smut including vore (the full range from endo/safe to cruel/fatal), noncon, limited scat, and general lewdness. Some programming too, but there is gonna be a lot of smut.

If you have trouble contacting me or want a more SFW account to interact with, see @foxyoreos@mastodon.social

VPN bans are unenforceable nonsense because come on, how would companies even figure out what IPs to block?

Blocking IP ranges based on aggregate data is famously an unsolved problem online. It's not like there's some giant Cloud business with extensive Internet coverage that's entire deal is classifying Internet traffic based on aggregate data, with so much power that it gets called a monopoly, and with a history of not standing up for NSFW.

@Taris @hatch_stir Oh! To be clear, this was not a reference to gulp.cafe, this is a conversation I had with somepony about how I myself label the restrictions on my cozy streams, where I disallow stuff like watersports, disposal, etc.. I honestly was not thinking about gulp.cafe at all, I'm genuinely just trying to figure out what labels I should use.

@IceWolf I don't know enough about Krita to answer that to be honest. My guess is there's probably a lot of stuff in Krita that is not deterministic? That being said, I haven't looked into the save file format, but I feel like you could probably get that working in version control? Uuids won't be changing once they're set, right? I'm a little confused at what you mean by reproducible, because Krita's API is so limited you'd have trouble scripting that in the first place I would guess?

@IceWolf right but to have a reproducible build, you have to be able to build, and I don't think Krita exposes enough of an API that you could build a document through the main program by scripting it. I dunno, it sounds like you're saying the file is the build target, but I would say the file is your *source code*, the exported png is your build target. To get a reproducible krita build, I would say construct a save file and directly manipulate it? I might be misunderstanding.

@IceWolf more granular. My use of "layer" is deceptive, I just am being bad at explaining because I've been reading too much code :3 This is to pin individual reference images (not all of them, and not by default). Internally krita has a singular reference images layer per document. But that's just where they get stored. I won't be touching that except to add the method calls into its render method. This is a per-shape thing :3

@IceWolf the short answer to what happens on save is whatever is least annoying. I am constantly drawing in krita I will not tolerate annoying behavior on save/load, period. If this ends up working perfectly on save load across multiple sizes, then I'll just let it do that. If it's at *all* annoying, I'll save the pre-pinned position and revert back to that whenever the image is unpinned, and unpin it on load. If that's error prone, I'll figure something else out.

@IceWolf I do plan to add some kind of "unpin everything" toggle in case you end up somehow managing to get a pinned image offscreen. But ultimately I'm just gonna need to play with it and see what can cause it to get messed up. The worst thing that can happen with this I think is "losing" a reference image or needing to delete and re-add it. So I can think of a number of safety things I could add to just make that really hard to do.

There shouldn't be jitter, cause imma do this like right before the draw call. And because I'm not messing with any of the actual rendering code, all of the controls and stuff for reference images will still work? in theory. Like I'm sure I'll find some problem with it, but.. I'm also worried it'll trigger recursive updates, but I can fix that if it does. I even kinda think I know how to wire this into the UI. So it should work? I dunno. Maybe it'll work.

Reference images in Krita are just objects on a layer. So there's not a lot of math to this, I get a transform from Krita before the image draws, and I can kind of just.. save it. Like, I already have it when the thing renders, there's no reason to compute it twice. And there's a really lovely, wonderful set of methods that get called to update the reference image layer that has the transform that's about to get applied to each object, so..

But now I'd read a lot of code, and the obvious hacky nonsense solution which I had dismissed multiple times already was starting to look not that bad: move the reference image on the document and resize and rotate it every time the canvas view moves. This sounds really bad but.. I think it ends up being really clean? (with the caveat that I have not programmed or tested this yet).

What if, before that happens, the pinned reference images just happened to get their transform set to the transform of the target screen position they were pinned at, multiplied by the inverse of the layer's new transform? UwU Like, that's maybe a question, I don't know because matrix math is fucking confusing and I came very close to failing that class in college. But it seems like that should work? And be cheap and scale really well?

@Rusty@cubhub.social it's less about the expression part and more about the "override warnings" part. I can set content warnings to auto-expand globally right now. I want the ability to auto expand them based on:

  • the account posting it
  • if a word is in the content warning
  • etc..

I wired up something similar as an extension when I first signed up for Itaku and it was really useful, I still use it today <3

@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place also god damn, the web has NEVER been more open technology-wise. You can still use all the old stuff, but also a lot of the new stuff rocks and you can get further than ever before with pure fucking html. We have modals, sidebars and dropdowns now. That entire class of ui component libraries are obsolete, you just use html. Layout has never been easier. Just because Bluesky uses fucking Tailwind, that doesn't mean the web is worse.

The immediately obvious way to do this is, you wrap around the rendering code. This has problems - Krita is using like.. 2 layers of transforms here? So just saying "don't transform this image when you draw it" - you *can*, you definitely can, but like.. it would be annoying to track things. But worse, you'd have to update the color picker, the handles to resize, etc.. that's like.. too much stuff that now needs to know about this. So, not that.

I spent way too long just reading the Krita source code today (my deep apawlogies to the multiple critters who I was planning to spend full commissions to today who instead got like 50% of their commission work sent over). I don't know for certain that my implementation won't have problems, but it seems like a really decent shot it will work pretty well.

Reformation in Rain World is really interesting. The pred continues on normally, but the *prey* reforms at the start of the day. It's a strange setup that probably makes it harder for preds and prey to build up relationships with each other, but can lead to mutual understandings like this one :3

@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place I think that AI bullshit has gotten so bad that even boosters can't ignore the problems, that's just not feasible anymore. So instead what they've started to do is pay lip service to the problems, and then change nothing about their actions, and then be like "I just want 'nuance." They don't want nuance. What they want is to shift the entire conversation to one question ("does it help with coding") - and if it does, then they're using it, end of discussion.

So, I thought for a while about.. "well, how do I keep the controls without updating them?" And my next thought was, maybe draw the image twice. So one version is the real one, and we just draw it a second time pinned. I don't think that'll be good UI though? And I still want the color picker.

I've always liked "NSFW" instead of sexual because not all NSFW is sexual, and it also makes it more clear what the category is - "this is something that, on average, most critters don't want their boss to see." It's not perfect, but it's better to me than just "explicit". I was trying to think like.. is there a more inclusive way of talking about things like hard vore, watersports, etc.. that critters will still know what I mean?

Because there is an actual category here, in the same way that NSFW is a category. Certain types of kink where like.. you have to pay more attention to labeling them. You can expect them to be more niche. They're not "typical", and they're atypical in a way that might be disturbing to some critters. Hard vore, cooking vore, watersports, disposal. But "extreme" feels stigmatizing in an unnecessary way.
