@fj So they're admitting that mass surveillance is incompatible with democracy (good, we need written confessions). They are also saying they don't want to do mass surveillance inside the USA, and so only the USA deserves democracy. Am I reading this correctly?

#Introduction
Hi! I've been on mastodon since summer 2023, but this is my brand new account. I'm interested in #FreeOpenSource #privacy respecting software, #OpenAccess science, and overall community driven spaces. I study #physics, I'm a beginner-level programmer, and would like to start contributing to some #foss #floss projects or sharing my own code. I thought I'd join floss.social to be in a community of like-minded people. I also like #flowers. That's all for now. Have a nice day!

@kyleford I'm pretty sure this is what @pluralistic was talking about when he used the term Reverse Centaur. Now I'm picturing a world where people accomplish random inscrutable tasks in the real world dictated by AI slop bots and they have no way of knowing what they just did. Isn't this part of the plot of the Severance TV show? Please, don't create the Torment Nexus #ReverseCentaur #enshittification #enshittocene #TormentNexus

@rapscalorie@cyberplace.social @nyhan@fediscience.org @mk30@tilde.zone @pluralistic@mamot.fr CalyxOS is having a few issues right now, hope they sort it out. I've been using #GrapheneOS for a year now and am happy with it. The installation was very smooth! Some banking apps don't work but it's their fault not Graphene's. If people are interested I recommend checking out @josh@sideofburritos.social YouTube videos. Overall I am very happy with my experience and I try to use privacy-respecting free open source apps as much as possible. Go check out @GrapheneOS@grapheneos.social
