@Em0nM4stodon@infosec.exchange I prefer to let speech-to-text dictate, then I go through and summarize key points myself. The thing is, all current transcription thingies see “AI” now. They don’t need to be. Speech-to-text has been “solved” for decades. It doesn’t need GPU-intensive “AI.” My Pentium III in 1999 could do a competent enough job.

@Techaltar While it *IS* a tracking identifier, it is *NOT* your own user ID. Someone can't just paste the si= and find out your YT account. YT internally knows, but not random users. The value after si= changes every time you do "share". Even on the same video. (All I did was close the share sheet, and re-click "Share", it generated a new si= value.)

@GeekAndDad@mastodon.social Annonyingly, if a phone is capable of a newer major-version, they stop releasing minor-version updates for it. Only if it can’t run the newer major-version does it get the minor releases. iPhone XS/XR for iOS 18 for example. You want all the security updates, you have to be on the latest major-version your phone supports. Thankfully macOS doesn’t do this crap.

@Techaltar@mas.to Hrm… That must be something in testing, I don't see any DM options on any of my four YouTube accounts. Just testing sending/receiving from multiple different pairs, on Desktop, iOS, and Android, and don't see any "leakage" or attempt to DM. Wouldn't surprise me if it's coming, though, and "start a DM via share link" would be *TERRIBLE* privacy/security if they do it that way.
