Pangolin: stringed instrument that rolls into a ball when threatened
Any of my #Melbourne Mastodon friends need furniture?
I've got
- A load of bookshelves I'm not taking to Sydney.
- Couple of workbenches (the kind with the pegboard back,
- a nice marble-topped kitchen island,
- a hydraulic sit-stand mini desk and an office chair
- a nice TV/entertainment unit
- a modular sofa
- a fabric bench seat
- Some 1080p monitors
- hydraulic monitor arms
- A giant cable drum coffee table
- Loads of other random bits and bobs.
All sorts of stuff. Some of it might end up at a charity shop or trashed if it's not taken away. I can't take it ALL to Sydney, and besides it won't all fit.
They're all going cheap or free.
Binface versus Farage in Clacton??
Oh please, Clacton, Please do it.
It won’t get you all forgiveness for Brexit, but it will stop me hating you all so much.
Being an adult is opening a packet of biscuits, bringing the biscuit tin out so you can put the rest of the biscuits in when you’ve had a couple of biscuits, then putting the biscuit tin back empty.
I keep getting emails from Indeed saying "this job matches your profile" then I click through and find it's for a specific stack I didn't even know existed.
I mean wtf even is the MERN stack?
(I looked it up, I have not got any of that mentioned in my profile anywhere)
Indeed's clanker be fucked yo.
This is worrying on numerous levels, and not just because of the LLM agent. Also because of the humans intertwined with it.
People are using LLMs to do really dumb stuff.
Petition to rename Stockholm Syndrome to “Chronic America Brain”
Low stakes conspiracy theory that's possibly true:
Elon Musk is renaming all his stuff to X so that he can slowly make the serifs on the X bigger and bigger and slightly more hooked and then turn them to the full 90°, then finally put that logo onto a white circle on a field of red.
Just saying.
Vibe coding is ultimately always going to fail because of a truism in software development.
It is easy to describe *what you want* from a piece of software.
The trick is describing the near-infinite list of things you *don’t*.
I wonder if British internet politics/culture commentator Tom Nicholas is aware that a search of his name on Reddit returns this?

Went to a maternal health centre earlier. Amused by the sign that said “All deliveries via front entrance”
Religious zealots lie. News at eleven
Online polls can be gamed. NEWS AT FUCKING ELEVEN
Back to the WFH schedule today, after three days off with the new boy.
Feels a bit weird being downstairs in the home office, but my god I'm motivated...
Wtf?
My boy is coming home from the maternity ward today.
It is fair to say that this is when ADHD -related emotional dysregulation really pays off
Because I am high as a fucking kite right now.
In a sane universe, an “off the shelf software” polict might look like the sensible choice for a moon mission. Tried and tested, commercially supported, professionally built*
Unfortunately, we’re not in one of those so they had to fix broken outlook on what I presume to be the most remote support session ever.

Baby musical taste update:
LOVED London Calling. Liked more XTC. Was intrigued by the smiths. Talking Heads ftw. Even good with Primus. ADORED Pink Floyd’s “Money”.
Cried again when King Crimson came on shuffle.
I think that’s gonna take work.
