@catsalad@infosec.exchange @antdude@mastodon.social ...that... is a lot more coincidental than you might want to believe. But because I have very few things with which to annoy you, I will say it anyway: E = mc² is a simplified form of E² = (pc)² + (mc²)² Which looks like c² = a² + b². Which is further proof that physicists are having salacious affairs with right triangles. Energy² = momentum² + mass². Bow chicka wow wow.

@catsalad@infosec.exchange ? Is he famous for something? I could go looking, but I figure it might ruin your surprise if I do.

@hannorein hang on. What? How is that a problem? If they were going to cheat, they would have found a method to do so anyway. So to say, students setting themselves up for failure is entirely not a new thing; students have always found methods to circumvent their systems. For example, how many students would ever be trusted by their professors to practice their learned trade? Not many, if any, according to anecdotal evidence or unofficial surveys of STEM professors. @daisy

@vincentab@fosstodon.org I will boost this for #rstats and #python visibility because I also do not know. I would offer a suggestion but the methods I use for our system are not optimized for machine readability.

@vincentab@fosstodon.org hey!! I am a huge fan of your datasets. Really good stuff. That said, are you looking more for an existing framework or a method that you can tune for your purposes?

@ketan out of curiosity, are you "waiting" because you want someone else to propose a solution or out of frustration from the friction for any proposable solutions?

Uh... so... H. P. Lovecraft. Uh... did you know... I do not even know how to say this; it explains a lot:

As cited in S.T. Joshi’s I Am Providence: The Life and Times of H.P. Lovecraft (Hippocampus Press, 2013), HPL remarked in 1931, “In studies I was not bad – except for mathematics, which repelled and exhausted me. I passed in these subjects – but just about that. Or rather it was algebra which formed the bugbear. Geometry was not so bad. But the whole thing disappointed me bitterly..."

You know, it is a little bit ironic. In RPGs (arpgs, ttrpgs, isekai, etc.) a guild's main priority is to take care of its members; the adventurers who register with the guild system. The guild assigns ranks, negotiates quest benefits, etc., for the guild members, so that they only have to focus on completing the quest they accepted.

IRL, a guild's (staffing/placement agencies, etc.) main priority is to take care of its corporate shareholders. IRL, the members of a guild are corporate clients.

@davidculley@hachyderm.io Your bio says you left deep learning, but you are quoting sociological, self-proclaimed Luddite writers to criticize kernel development? What was the actual functional roadblock you hit that made you stop engineering and start relying on theorists to make your points? Am I wrong to suggest you take Torvalds' advice and build a functional, ethical alternative or create a competitive, clean-energy, clean-dataset, open-source model that actually rivals state-of-the-art capability?

@thomasfuchs@hachyderm.io I am going to assume this is an extension of this: https://hachyderm.io/@thomasfuchs/116727389440175494 And respond as if it is just a singular cohesive thought spread over multiple threads. Is that cool? So the premise that the set of objects called Developers and the set of objects called Engineers are equal sets is false. Pretend the timeline does not exist. Which bootcamp teaches web development _and_ system engineering before handing a completion certificate? That said, your frustration is valid.

@atraidez@infosec.exchange @davidculley@hachyderm.io Clearly literacy and comprehension are unequal because you apparently could not be arsed to read OP's reply I am using "Luddite" as a "if you read the entire sentence and stop trying to take the only word that happens to look familiar to you as a point of leverage then maybe you would answer your own question before you can ask it" kind of term Edit: Oh, but feel free to smash all the Linux kernels from all the rich white men who are using LLMs to replace workers

@ChrisMayLA6@mastodon.me.uk To add to your evaluation, I just want to point out a few things for anybody else coming along: ● GDP measures total economic output (a statistical average), not median household income. ● That 3.3% growth is adjusted for inflation; the impacts of which are wildly disparate between brackets. ● Federal Reserve data on wealth distribution shows that the post-pandemic US economy has a K-shaped recovery.
