I'm a writer. Correct attribution matters to me, and it did even back when there were adults in the American White House. I'm not sure I will ever find a more succinct description of AI. Thank you, Jeff (if indeed it was you). You made a difference when you posted this. You are making a difference now.

My #introduction: I’m a white settler heterosexual cisgender male, so I don’t have to deal with a lot of first-glance prejudice.

Being a #writer is part of who I am. By profession, I am a #techwriter of documentation and online help for software. My hobbyist roles are #actor and #mentalist (a sub-type of #magician) but you might want to keep in mind that in both those roles, it’s all about pretending.

I live in #Ottawa #YOW but I am from the part of Atlantic Canada known as #Newfoundland and #Labrador.

I did not have the honour of knowing Dr Peter G. Neumann, who recently died at age 93. But I did have the honour of meeting him once at a conference, which was absolutely the right place to meet him. It obvious how many people revered him and were grateful for his pioneering work in computer risks and his continued presence.

I cannot claim to have known Dr Neumann, but for all those who did: May his memory be a blessing.
