You’d think after 21 years of coming to Germany I’d stop giggling like a middle schooler at the word for “journey”.
Not when it’s rendered like this, I can’t.

Amen, @dimsumthinking@mastodon.social:
“If you go to the gym and ask AI to do a set of bicep curls, the weights are being lifted but they aren't being lifted by you. Your biceps aren't benefiting.
If your goal is to move the weights then AI is fine. If your goal is to build your biceps and the weights are the mechanism for doing so, then passing that work off to AI isn't accomplishing your goal.”

@agiletortoise@mastodon.social I have an earlier generation of their charger. The app is nothing to write home about in either good or bad ways IMO. Given what it does, I'm very okay with that.

@ashfurrow@tenforward.social any particular reason you're not using this guy since that looks to me like an ISO8601 compliant date? https://developer.apple.com/documentation/foundation/iso8601dateformatter

@grigs@front-end.social reminds me of the old joke about two economists out for a walk.
They come upon a pile of dogshit, and the first one bets the second one $100 he won't eat it. The second one eats the dogshit, and the first one gives him $100.
Then they come upon another pile of dogshit, and the second bets the first that *he* won't eat it. The first eats dogshit, and second pays him $100.
The second says "Wait, we both ate shit and are where we started!"
First says "Ah, but we added $200 to the GDP!"

@jamesdempsey Are you planning to do another run before the end of the year? I've been looking at this but the timing isn't right for the october round for me, sadly

@eb@social.coop @drwho@hackers.town @mdekstrand@hci.social they have at least a few folks who work on accessibility more generally though, as seen with this project https://cair.rit.edu/teaching-accessibility/

@agiletortoise@mastodon.social yeah making this transition was a huge pain in the ass on the journaling app I used to work on. I wound up adding comically extensive testing of a bunch of edge cases.

@SeanMcTex it seems like these are a lot less potentially dangerous than full size reactors in terms of meltdown potential, but have they figured out what to do with the spent fuel beyond “shove it down a mountain in Nevada and walk away whistling nonchalantly”?

@0xTim@hachyderm.io Definitely helps that there's a big bunch of conferences that are around the same time - part of the reason starting a new one in the US is even more expensive, since you can't really split costs with anyone else.

@agiletortoise@mastodon.social I genuinely do not know how people deal with HOAs. That would drive me up the wall so fast.
