Using both Codex and Claude Code to create a new website, I am amazed how much faster Claude is, and how much better result I get. Night and day.

Listening to a podcast discussing Hail Mary and speed of light led me to new (maybe incorrect) insights. Since you can’t accelerate to C (energy tangent -> infinity) and time slows down exponentially, does time then stand still for photons, who DO travel in C…meaning they can be everywhere at once?

@kevinrenskers Thank you for your great text! I feel exactly like you explain and have suffered under Tim Apple for so long. This text from February last year is subpar to yours, but share the same sentiment. I have reduced my spending on Apple hardware to the bare minimum, and while I will still buy what I truly need, I will not do so happily. That’s something I share with most US big tech companies these days, but I never believed Apple would join that gang.

Swift Package Scripts 3.0 is out! 🚀 This version removes the script file extension to let us trigger scripts easier.
I have a very strange experience with Foundation Models, where my next word prediction session returns uppercase words when in Safari, otherwise lowercase. There is nothing in the instructions or prompts that change, and it's always running inside a keyboard extension, so Safari being the host must somehow be affecting the system logic in a very strange way.

@tjadejong@mastodon.social Hi Tim! You need to add the resource information to your Swift package file, so that Xcode handles it properly. Otherwise, the string catalog will not be processed by the package. You must also add the default locale to the package. You can take a look at this package file for reference :)

@kevinrenskers Thanks, but it dwarfs in comparison with yours :) Big tech has come a long way from the “Make the world a better place” days.
St Julian’s in Malta seems like the perfect mix of maximum capitalism and minimum taxation. The hotels and commercial parts are top notch while most of the coastal line is cut off from the public and the few remaining parts are dirty or ruined.
The Mortal Kombat games’ solo campaigns are insanely impressive in their ambitions, and MK1 takes it to a completely new level. Long and highly detailed movie segments with fun fight insertions. Almost movie worthy.

@appfrosch@iosdev.space @alpennec@iosdev.space I think using interactive dismissal makes the most sense, but I too would love to have a way to detect when the user tries to dismiss the sheet. I have no such support in that package, and don't know of any SwiftUI native ways of doing so.

@graste@social.vivaldi.net Microsoft absolutely suck at naming. Apple do too (anyone remember The New iPad?), but their stellar product quality has generally managed to overcome the naming. In Microsoft’s case, we got the Xbox naming debacle, with One S, Series S, Series X, etc., which tanked the entire product line.
