Crafty Gardener NZ
mastodon 4.7.2Hello there, I'm a Gen X small business owner and lifestyle blogger. I mostly share my crafting and gardening adventures in Dunedin, New Zealand.
I have a PhD in Plant Biochemistry, and a certificate in Horticulture.
I finished hubby's cloak last night :partyparrot:
I need to take some photos of both of ours now, and then they go into storage until our nephews wedding next month.
My chickpea plants are remarkably frost tolerant. They've survived 3 frosts so far, with one down to -1.7˚C.
The plants are healthy, and they're still flowering and producing chickpea pods. They're up to my hip now.
Right I'm off outside, I have a bunch of things to do in the garden:
1 - liquid frost cloth the citrus.
2 - plant the last of the garlic
3 - plant as many spring bulbs as I can
Brr she's a cold one this morning 🥶
The frost is super crunchy out there. As a bonus it means our solar system will be pumping out electrons today.
Ugh, all I need to do is do the thread chains and then hubby's cloak is finished. I just don't wanna do it 😩
I just need a needle and thread and watch the video tutorial a few times...
In this week's crafting blog post, I knitted a pair of socks for Mother's Day.

Breast Screening Aotearoa sent me a text saying I was overdue for screening.
My appointment was supposed to be yesterday but they cancelled it. And now it feels like they're grumping at me.
Sigh...
Jo Galer won the DCC by-election vote by only 89 votes 😩
Voter turnout was low.
New Zealand friends, can you please vote and let me know how you spell the following word:
Is anyone else obsessed with The Other Bennet Sister on TVNZ?
The actor playing Mrs Hill in this adaption played Mary in the 1995 BBC adaption of Pride and Prejudice.
Hubby and I watched the final episode of Supernatural at lunch time. 15 seasons of Sam and Dean, and the family business.
And I'm happy that hubby agreed with me, that the second to last episode should've been the last. It was my second rewatch of Supernatural, and hubby's first watch.
