#lordpercival getting in a few poses while I make the bed. Can't help himself, looking so cute! #cats #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse #caturday #tuxedocat
I'm back from a trip and #lordpercival can't be happier. He cuddled up next to me on the couch for hours yesterday, something he never does as an independent man, but I guess he couldn't help showing his happiness to have me back! He hid from the cat sitter for 4 days while I was gone!!! #cats #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse #tuxedocat
I left the couch for one second, and this guy stealthily took my spot. #lordpercival #caturday #cats #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse #tuxedocat

I'm back from a trip and Lady Mischief won't show how happy she is. She'll just be a wee bit more companionable than normal. #cats #catsofFediverse #catsofMastodon #blackcat

My sunny office attracts both #lordpercival and Lady Mischief, who ends up pulling a yoga pose before flopping down on the rug for a nap. #caturday #cats #blackcat #tuxedocat #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse

#lordpercival is guarded, yet inquisitive about the golden retriever eyeballing him from across the street. So far, he has only made friends with one neighborhood dog, a very elderly fellow named Niko who is partially blind and pauses at the end of our driveway every time he passes, in case Lord P will grant him a visit. Occasionally Niko is rewarded for his diligent attentions. #cats #catsofMastodon #catsofFediverse #tuxedocat

My kitchen #orchid is in bloom again, and the forsythia in the front yard has budded out.

@Satiah@mastodon.social the main strategy I have is to get Percival started on his bowl first and then put Mischief's bowl down once Percival starts eating. Then I literally stand between them and play defense when he tries to get to her bowl, which he attempts even before finishing his food. I then verbally correct him, redirect him to his bowl, and praise when he starts to eat again. If he lays down near her but doesn't bully, I also praise. So far he has been responsive, surprisingly!

@bethmckinley aww that's sweet and sad! So hard to lose them! We had our Lily for 17 years and lost her two years ago, leaving our other cat Mischief to be very lonely. We then adopted Lord Percival to keep Mischief company and they've done great together!

@darwinwoodka haha, luckily he's very good about it. He learned to wear a harness so he can go outside on a leash without hunting birds, so I think he just associates the sweater with getting his harness on!
