FYI mastodon admins, you may want to block the `meta-externalagent/1.1 (+https://developers[dot]facebook[dot]com/docs/sharing/webmasters/crawler)` (link mangled to prevent previews) and `meta-externalagent/1.1` useragents. They've been hitting my instance's signup page at roughly 5Hz, and things got a lot faster after I configured nginx to discard their traffic.

@foone@digipres.club @themaritimegirl@tech.lgbt @lint@social.puppydogging.com if all you care about is the video, it's no worse than wiring up a laserdisc player - I just have the tap soldered through a 10uF cap onto the playback RF test point. If audio matters, it becomes a huge pain to record that in sync with the video, though it looks like they're working on multichannel capture devices for that (MISRC looks super interesting!)
