This is a fully funded 3-year position in the Copenhagen campus of Aalborg University. The student will join my project "mInt" (for "messaging interoperability" ;)) and will be co-supervised by me and @nielsvanberkel@hci.social .

We just published the list of the 187 amazing #chi2025 Late-Breaking Work ACs that are shaping up the largest posters programme that @chi@hci.social has ever seen! Thank you all for your hard work! https://chi2025.acm.org/for-authors/late-breaking-work/
Hey #matrixconf. I'm conducting a research study about how users experience interoperable messaging, e.g., via @matrix@mastodon.matrix.org bridges, between different matrix clients, @onbeeper@bird.makeup and mainstream apps, etc.
I'm looking for *users* that are NOT involved in the development of these clients/platforms.
If you know anybody that fits this criteria, could you invite them to get in touch with me for a ~30 minutes interview? My email is cfg@cs.aau.dk. Thank you!!
@aaron @nielsvanberkel@hci.social thanks! Amazing matrix. Especially because of the delicate balance between similarities and differences across messengers, I find it particularly interesting to think of how users will make sense of those similarities and differences when chatting from different platforms. In this talk at the @matrix@mastodon.matrix.org conference I talk in detail about some interesting challenges about UIs for interoperable chats from a relational/user-centered perspective: https://youtu.be/0OWAPYS2QIE?si=Usdnf562JWhj-oHf
