@HeavenlyPossum@kolektiva.social "but if we abolish the police, who will do this thing that the police absolutely does not do today"

@ifixcoinops@retro.social I was half seriously going to suggest replacing the handle with one of those extendable 8' paint roller handles for painting the ceiling, but then I remembered those things snap in half if you paint even just slightly too vigorously, and also I wouldn't be surprised if their respective threads are made to be incompatible like some sort of DRM But For Mops

@ifixcoinops @Ongion relatedly, I once heard someone say it's surprisingly easy to teach a cat to Shit In A Toilet And Flush, the hard part, and the reason you shouldn't do it and keep using litterboxes, is that it's nearly impossible to teach a cat to Not Flush For Fun At All Times Of Day

@CaptMikeYates@tech.lgbt @Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt I believe Quebecois Redditors often (jokingly) use "cacaposter", the noun version being, of course, "un cacapoteau"

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt It probably varies geographically too, but in my neck of the woods there's an interesting generational component to it! Millenials will usually decline English verbs as if they were French group 1 verbs like in your post, while Gen Z usually use the English infinitive without any declension.

@highergeometer @standupmaths Between this, I Did A Thing, and Explosions & Fire, I'm starting to think Australian maker-youtubers are too busy keeping watch for drop-bears to worry about trivial things like "measure twice cut once", or basic workshop safety precautions like wearing shoes

@acarsdrama Dads who make the ol' "they haven't left one up there yet" joke in absolute shambles right now
