@1password@1password.social Shame my subscription just renewed a couple months back, but I guess that means I have ample time to find a better platform. This is always bad, but extremely bad in a tool guarding my valuable secrets. I'm out.

@neauoire Apparently it is not a rare thing in oilfield work? I recently watched this https://youtu.be/sdWEGzWFcCc?t=276 which has lots of other fascinating horrible units, but that's the bit that talks about "decimal feet".

@neauoire I was amused that both you and he chose the same, self-evidently accurate, description - cursed. Someone certainly needs to think about their life choices after creating such things.

@netkitty@meow.social Good policy, kitn. Hold on to that as long as possible.

@khm @neauoire Fascinating. Thank you. That does track. I was vaguely aware of the "US survey feet" thing and clearly have a new Wikipedia rabbit hole to explore now.

@pseudonym@mastodon.online The grandchild dubbed me 'Steve' due to my beard resembling Jack Black's in The Minecraft Movie.

@netkitty@meow.social Absolutely!

@shanselman Slick. Maybe the new BabySmash?

@b0rk@social.jvns.ca Purchased the moment I saw the email. Perfect timing, as I have two adult children taking their first steps into building web things as side projects. Looks great for them, but based on your blog posts I'm sure I'll be learning things too.

@GossiTheDog@cyberplace.social I considered snarking about how it was some random Logitech gamepad, not an Xbox controller, but... yes, that's exactly what you'd get - something roughly controller shaped from a different vendor.
