Received earlier this year, we sat down with #firestonewalker's Anniversary Ale XXIX.
Out of the bottle, XXIX produces an enthusiastic amount of head, resting on a pool of opaque darkness. Receding, quickly, there remains a wreath on the surface.
Swirling and sniffing, we recover notes of vanilla, cacao chocolate, dark fruit (mostly cherry), and a bit of barnyard funk (not sour).
Sipping, we recover notes of baking spices (cinnamon and nutmeg), more dark fruit, some vanilla, cacao chocolate, and some molasses. Overall, XXIX has a strong mouthfeel, a definite alcoholic warmth, and a lingering bitterness that is complimented with alcoholic warmth.
Pairings? Go crazy with a tiramisu. creme brulee, or a black forest cake.

Wildflower 🌼🍯 — a final, fleeting pour. A ghost beer from Hildegard, never to return. Grateful for Bottleworks & Hildegard, Ferments, and Botanicals. Some things aren’t meant to last.

Quick thoughts?
On the nose—brown sugar, orange zest, butterscotch, cherry-forward stone fruit, and vanilla bean.
On the sip—baking spices lead (cinnamon, nutmeg), followed by honey, vanilla cream, apricot, cherry, and brown sugar.
The finish lingers with dark fruit, spiced oak, warm cinnamon, and a touch of black pepper.

#Disorono reached out with the following, https://www.disaronno.com/en/godfatherweek-2026/ There's a suggested cocktail recipe: 1 part Disaronno, 2 parts Whiskey and a touch of orange peel. Anyone see this and try to make the cocktail? If you did what did you like or not like about it?

A #question - Pixelfed.
Inst****m is the standard for visual social media posts. Problem is the platform has drifted far apart from its humble beginnings.
As someone that supports Federated servers, I have seen some users complaining about Pixelfed and blog posts.
As we have done on Inst****m, we sometimes post photos/a photo coupled with a description mostly directing users to visit our website and read articles.
The photos are well thought out and clearly show an amateurs touch. But, we don’t like the idea of irritating those who see Pixelfed as something else.
So, our question is, should Pixelfed be reserved exclusively for only posting photos with a description of the subject and maybe the process? Or can users use Pixelfed to not only share photos but to also micro-blog?
Open to different thoughts.
#gifted from Goose Island, we tried Big Hazy Pineapple Beer Hug. Unfortunately, this one didn't meet our goals for a tropical Imperial Hazy IPA. It was simply way too much pineapple and came off tasting like pineapple concentrate, with a (kinda) medicinal quality. Maybe it was a bad can, or maybe it's better on draft? That's our take.
