mastodon 4.7.3You can call me Gar or Akari (after my XIV WoL 🙂)
I play a lot of games, primarily JRPGs, mostly FFXIV these days and am learning to make digital anime style art.
You'll probably see a decent amount of FFXIV screenshots and beginner level digital art as I learn more 😅

Played through the new Starfox tonight and absolutely loved it!
This game will always have special place in my heart. I used to rent this exact cartridge from Blockbuster all the time. When they finally did their store closing sale, my folks bought it for me 🥹
I’m looking forward to being excited about XIV again

@aceattveg @bearmine @rakuno glad to catch up with talk too! I feel like I don’t know what to post about since I haven’t played XIV much and have been incredibly slow on the art front 😅

@bearmine@gamepad.club @rakuno@gamepad.club @aceattveg@gamepad.club I was an “Xbox” kid growing up and was really rooting for them with the series x. But now I really don’t even want to turn the thing on to the point where I’ve been rebuying most games on other platforms 🙃

@bearmine @aceattveg @rakuno I don’t know that I’d agree. I think a lot of people that buy consoles don’t have a PC to fall back on.
IMO they never recovered from the bad will they generated with the Xbox One. People who built up a library on PS4 weren’t gonna move back after skipping a gen when they could carry their games forward to the PS5. I don’t think Xbox’s output during that time was good enough to be enticing even if play anywhere didn’t exist.

@aceattveg@gamepad.club @bearmine@gamepad.club @rakuno@gamepad.club was in the same exact boat, loved Kotor and Morrowind on the original Xbox! 360 was a great time too. Xbox live on the 360 was such a big social thing in my HS. I liked the Play Anywhere part of the Series X which was why I was pulling for it, but a game once and play on the TV or pc was a cool idea. Was really hoping the Steam Machine would kind of replace that but now I’m questioning if it’ll even get released.

It’s subtle but it’s my first time trying colored line art too!

@wallmask3@mastodon.art haha yeah it’s actually an odd MMO in a way because so much of it is relatively single player story stuff with other characters.

@wallmask3@mastodon.art it’s kinda both 😅. They’re announcing a new expansion today. The last one has mostly run its course. It’s mostly a social game for me and none of my friends have really been around to do anything with.
