Advice I wish I could give to myself a year ago: do not use an online-only bank. Use a bank that you can physically go to and talk with a human when their online systems inevitably can't handle your "corner case". ING refuses to pay out my mortgage, claiming documents are missing, and sending an auto-generated PDF with an empty list of "missing documents". I'm losing my mind over here from the anxiety over payment deadlines and I can't even talk to another human about it because there's no in person office and no call centers.

@nicd@masto.ahlcode.fi you can reach a human by a contact form when you manage to navigate though the useless AI chatbot to let you, but the responses so far were slow and shallow.

@nicd@masto.ahlcode.fi I've spent a while looking for a customer service phone number but all I found is an emergency number for reporting stolen credit cards. I also thought a bank is legally required to offer phone customer service...

@OhTheUrbanity@mastodon.social Done! Just yesterday, my friend tried to bike when it was minus 8 deg Celcius outside and her breakes froze shut while biking, causing her to have to get down from the bike in the middle of an intersection 😰
