The Macquarie St/Gasworks Bridge, Parramatta, NSW. This iron lattice bridge on sandstone pillars was built in 1885, and still carries thousands of cars a day. It now also has a shiny new bike path underneath it.

The PHIVE building in Parramatta Square, with its iconic sloped red roof. It houses the city library, council services, convention and exhibition spaces, and is currently also the temporary home of the Riverside Theatre.

It's not an Apple 2, it's a Wombat!
Apple's lawsuit against the company that sold this machine ended up going all the way to the High Court.
And Apple lost!
Turns out software was not covered by Australian copyright law at the time: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Computer_Edge_v_Apple

The most popular games machine that Mattel distributed in Australia: The Nintendo NES.
(Folks outside Australia: Note it says Mattel version on the cartridge cover.)

Some of the arts and crafts on exhibition at this year's Sydney Royal Easter Show.
You could literally spend all day admiring all the beautiful paintings, the woodwork, the stained glass, and everything else.

One of the interesting artworks currently on display at White Bay Power Station for Biennale.
Marian Abboud displays photographs of three generations of women in her family on posters and CRT screens. They're looking down on her now-deceased father's car.

On either side of the main span of the Lennox bridge are two pedestrian underpasses.
Along the walls, you'll find a series of murals, including one of the Sydney Morning Herald's divisive former architecture critic, Elizabeth Farrelly.
Farrelly is representative of a particular type of resident of Sydney's wealthy eastern suburbs, who feel a deep disdain for anywhere 'out west', especially Parramatta.
In a column, Farrelly expressed her disdain for a project to restore the Lennox Bridge underpass, on the grounds that: "Two brutish square-shaped faux-functional holes whose every semiotic cue says 'enter here and invite Clockwork Orange-style violence upon your person' will improve heritage value how, exactly? This is a clear instance of architectural theory running roughshod over the facts."
The quote was placed on a large mural in the underpass. There's also a drawing of David Lennox (who designed the bridge), a chart of historic Parramatta River mega-floods, and an acknowledgement of the Burramattagal–Dharug people (who are the Traditional Custodians).

A couple of days ago, I posted photos of the PHIVE building, which (among other things) houses Parramatta Library. Here's the library on the inside...

There's a myth down in Melbourne that people in Western Sydney don't go to the footy.
That's not true.
The GWS members sit on the same side of the ground as the TV cameras. As you can see, both tiers are open and most of the seats on the members' side are full.
