Daniel was unimpressed by the glaciers, but he held the minority opinion.

It arrived! The final piece of our immigration process is now complete. 🇨🇦
The best seat in Whitehorse.

On my last night in Whitehorse, I hiked up the Black Street Steps to the top of the Whitehorse escarpment.

I started a sourdough recipe yesterday and set the dough up for its bulk rise, and then proceeded to forget about it. Upon waking this morning, I remembered what I had done and found it nearly overflowing its bowl in the microwave where I had left it. Seeing now if I can salvage it…

If anyone is in the Vancouver area, we have a fantastic concert coming up this Sunday evening at 7:30pm, featuring Joseph Haydn's, "The Seven Last Words of Christ." The early reviews are in and folks are in for an amazing evening of music.

@emd@cosocial.ca We’ve started doing that at our church in Vancouver with areas of grass around the property. West Coast Seeds has some nice wildflower and pollinator friendly seed mixes. We saved ourselves the trouble of digging up the grass by laying down old cardboard boxes and covering them with a layer of dirt. That killed off the grass underneath and gave us a good soil surface for seeding.

@carkner Thank you for reporting it and for the heads up—I’ll keep my eyes open for more over here in the Marpole area.

@Antisocialmedia@theforkiverse.com @kevin@theforkiverse.com I am honoured--Canada loves a good pun. 🍴
The view from the top was absolutely worth it.

@action_jay@thecanadian.social My husband was yesterday years old when he learned the same thing.
I find it appalling that a Canadian company, NovaRed, would hire Kristi Noem, after everything we know about her from her time as the head of Homeland Security. And they seem to be proud of it.

@TechConnectify I was just thinking that I hadn’t seen a new video in a while and was looking forward to when a new one would come out.

The crematorium theory is not a new one either, as evidenced by this photo from 1957, depicting “Mary Lang goofing around in the old Crematorium on top of clay cliffs, Whitehorse.”

@futurebird@sauropods.win I’m curious about the nest with the concentric circles in the first image.
Why does the bed feel so good if we are meant to get out of it?
A great examination of the challenges facing the postal system in the US. And while it is specific to the USPS, it rhymes with what is happening at Canada Post and other postal systems around the world.

@Lioh@social.anoxinon.de It looks like the other shoe dropped. I can’t say I’m surprised—I’ve never had a great impression of the business plan for any number of these crypto-based businesses. #Storj https://www.storj.io/blog/an-open-letter-to-the-storj-token-community-the-restructuring-the-network-and-a-proposed-path-to-shared-ownership

@steve@social.dinn.ca If it helps, I know that both Grizzl-E and Flo are Canadian companies. I’ve not used the home charger version of either, but we have a public Flo charger at my church that is very reliable and well made. I’ve heard similar things about Grizzl-E as well.
For our first Canada Day as Canadian citizens, we’re having friends over and serving up some traditional Canadian dishes. I present the butter tarts for dessert.

@lukito@gamedev.lgbt Very cool, I keep thinking about getting into plotter art. What plotter do you use?
