@Paul@hades.town Not trying to be a debbie downer but if you are wanting to run a coop server I strongly suggest you make it clear how much it will cost to join up front - otherwise you will get a heap of freeloaders that you will do a heap of work for before they disappear when your bills come due.

@oblomov@sociale.network Oh I know XSLTs ... (I was learning about them back in 2000 ) - I'm just saying that focusing on the bad (and the history) doesn't give people a positive view of an alternative positive way of how they could live their life - It just leaves people feeling stuck. I really wish I could find that quote but basically its about doing the doing of living a good life. - As I think you have done in your post - rather than focusing on the bad that went before it. Your "Make yourself be seen" section at the end is really positive - I'd put that at the top along with the stuff about how cool XSLTs can be. But you are blogging and creating content and discussing things. Thats cool and positive and what we should be doing more of so that's all good.

@cmccullough Somes I feel like submitting individual FOI requests for each post made on Facebook just to make them realise an RSS or ActivityPub feed is required.

@gedankenstuecke Weirldy yesterday I was looking at an app called #networksurvey that I use from #fdroid and it includes the capacity to updload survey data to #opencellid and #beacondb - both of which I know nothing about but which I think are relevant to your query.

@panoramax This is really important - you should but you need to make sure that its governance is driven by input from users and not trustees who are not accountable. (Like #moziila and other trust based entities)

@hywan I worked in print for a few years and i got no sympathy for newspapers that lazily relied on search for the vast majority of their traffic and revenue. They then repeated the same thing with socialmedia. They ignored their subscribers and now have to sleep in the bed they made. I know thats not great for society but at some point they need to learn.

@nextcloud@mastodon.xyz @davidlohner@higher-edu.social Might be missing the point somehow but can you not just add their published / readonly caldav calendar to your nextcloud?

@nextcloud@mastodon.xyz @davidlohner@higher-edu.social ahhh,, so you want to merge multiple calendars into one calendar? Sounds like you need some scripting - I searched for " merge caldav calendars " and found this - github.com/LukasForst/camerge but only because I have too much time on my hands and well I'm just like that. Never used it. Can't vouch for it.

@Edent@mastodon.social My first suggestion would be the #RYA but maybe that's more becuase they need someone rather than any knowledge that they actually want someone. You could also talk to someone in the chartiies team at #odgersberndtson - They are an executive search practice.

@vosje62@mastodon.nl @blog@social.procolix.eu I get that. Actually that road is one of the places where you are quite limited in where you can go. You cant really deviate from it ..and its a dead end.
