Working in XCode feels like working in Eclipse a decade ago. Cryptic errors, poor documentation, a mouse focused UI... probably good for insiders and long time users. Utter horror for anyone coming from IntelliJ or VS Code or any modern IDE.

@Natasha_Jay@tech.lgbt wonder what's the click through rate on those buttons 😁

@technomancy@icosahedron.website thank you for the reminder! Do you have a recommended reading reference for setting up an instance for an organisation?

@jbqueru the moderators at my other instance posted an update if you want to join there https://hachyderm.io/@hachyderm/114405232287195843

@jbqueru I didn't know either that they're not American. I joined that instance in late 22 when it was run from a server in the founder's basement. She passed away sadly, but there's a good team in place running the instance.
I generally like their policies, communication, and hands-on spam handling.
@johnl@mastodon.social I guess @instapaper@mastodon.social still has an extension
Starting now, I'll post mostly at @adityabhaskar@hachyderm.io . It's a more active community with active sensible admins.
Follow me there.
If the first episode is anything to go by then "Étoile", on Amazon Prime video in the UK is a gem. Brilliant cast, lovely dialogue, good music and dance, nice sets and lighting... I'm loving it.

Bought a Calvin and Hobbes set. Spent an hour laughing out loud this morning
Wife got irritated and kicked me out to go do garden work. I'm still laughing.
She's working from home today and I'm on holiday to let my brain mend itself. C&H and gardening - both help with healing the brain, as do her and the dog.
Did Gen AI calculate those per kg prices?
@skinnylatte@hachyderm.io that sounds like game of thrones - everyone killing everyone all the time.
(I haven't seen TLOU except the odd episode here and there with my wife)
Yesterday, I saw three flags hanging from a bridge over A3 as we drove back home. It was the Union Jack, St George's flag, and the Surrey county flag.
At first I thought it's probably someone's way of celebrating the VE day.
Later I read about Reform announcing those are the only 3 flags they'll allow on their council buildings - particularly not wanting to display Ukraine and Pride flags. Now I _know_ why those flags were there.
First rose of the year in my garden. Surprisingly late given the weather we've been having.
@beastoftraal@mastodon.social it's also unique that he admits they don't know why it happened. There isn't any finger pointing or false bravado ("we'll bring the culprits to justice" kind). Just information and acknowledgement.
@Daojoan@mastodon.social a smart person (not me) suggested it should be "grandpas with toolboxes" era
