@futurebird@sauropods.win LADY LIBERTY has WINGS here because THAT'S how the viewer knows that SHE is the one who LAID THE EGGS which produced the GLORIOUS EAGLES flanking her, representing AMERICA'S BEAUTIFUL LIBERTY and AMERICA'S BEAUTIFUL LADIES
@dantheclamman@shom you might be interested to know that the human utricle and saccule are organs that use otoliths to detect gravity and linear acceleration. The mechanoreceptive hair cells in the semicircular canals, the utricles, and the saccules are homologous to those in fish ears and lateral lines, if I understand correctly, but I've never been able to find data on whether that's true of mollusk statocysts.
@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place my sanity, too, is directly influenced by how aggressively I am snuggled when I emerge from the life-devouring hole (work).
@futurebird
2.5mm a fork tine?
1 cm a fingertip? (which one as needed for hand size - fingernail also an option)
1.8 cm two fingertips/nails based on the reference hand above
@eniko@mastodon.gamedev.place I was at the American Academy of Neurology annual meeting and one of the PLENARY PRESENTATIONS was some jackass bragging about how he had tuned a chatbot to tell the neurology residents the right dose for seizure medications for critically ill babies 80-90% of the time. Send help.
@byakushin@mementomori.social@futurebird@sauropods.win the closest to microphotography I ever got was taking retinal photos with an ophthalmoscope and cell phone but I can stare that for that it works and mostly is an issue of getting the focus right and the phone held up to the eyepiece. Since microscopes hold still better than handheld tools I imagine cell phone microscopy would be easier?
@eniko@peoplemaking.games you already said sim city, but sim tower, earth, and ant also could be considered?
Unsure if old spiderweb software games like Exile, Nethergate, Geneforge, Avernum, etc count... They're slow paced but about swords and sorcery style fantasy, for the most part
Is katamari damacy retro? Is it chill or no chill at all? 🤔
@byakushin@mementomori.social@futurebird@sauropods.win I also don't understand why a stereo microscope would be necessary for a non-stereo camera and personally wouldn't worry about it. The camera attachments for stereo microscopes I've seen just divert light from one eye to the camera anyway.
