- hearing about the philosophy of the farm and how the owner used to be a teacher, and everything they do with kids from special needs schools..... it really hit me like a truck and couldn't stop myself crying a bit in the circle... then afterwards i walked away and [just] weeped my arse off. i think it was a moment where i really mourned myself leaving teaching, and i felt so angry about how i feel like i was forced to leave. but i was so happy to hear everything the owner was saying, and i was pleased that i had made it to this place. hannes caught me crying at the hills and walked with me and cheered me up
- and then....... all the mindfulness stuff we did in deep listening and then peter's workshop ALSO hit me like a truck. i didn't expect it to be so 'triggering' of some nasty memories but i think i had been worn down by the school thing and so it caught me off guard. i was almost gonna take myself out for a break during both those sessions but i managed to keep my composure. and it was so so so so nice to do an activity like this in a completely different scenario: in a group setting (not in isolation), surrounded by people who i trust / who have got my back, as a performance outside together (not a retreat inside)... both workshops were absolutely beautiful. i feel like i've discovered something really magic / important and i can't wait to completely dive into it now that I'm back
- we did it, we jammed overnight and saw the sunrise. it was a terrible idea
this is count binface's moment. actually unreal scenes in UK politics right now.
for those not in the know:
-
fascist party leader Nigel Farage of the fascist party Reform is currently undergoing investigations for receiving large large money gifts and not declaring it (this is yet another scandal on top of an already huge mountain of scandals coming from the tosser)
-
to distract from the investigations and potentially avoid them, Farage resigned. when you resign as an MP (member of parliament), it triggers a by-election. Farage is standing in the by-election(!). So did he really resign? Well, this practice is sometimes used to re-affirm support after scandals. But in this case, Farage already knows he had good support there, and we all know that, and also.... the investigations haven't concluded yet!! so this is a way of escaping + avoiding + hiding + distracting from them
continued...
- jamming together is such a peace forming activity. i had many conversations with people by speaking and listening.. and i also had many much richer 'conversations' with people by jamming with them
what's your favourite kind of art?
- i really don't have interest in learning to knit and stuff, i'm way too fidgety, but i loved loved loved seeing it all happen around me, taking over the camp. next year "knitcamp"??
- if you take a step back and look at all these different activities, you might think that they don't 'go together': you might struggle to find the connection between them or you might struggle to put that connection into words. but i think it's more of a feeling, and that felt like a theme of the week to me: don't get lost talking about it: do it and feel it out
- i had my first tarot card reading and it was really cool
- there were huge fire risks there. having just come from some forest fires a week earlier, i was really pleased that the farm owners were really educating everyone on the importance of avoiding fires and what things like fire beaters are and how to use them
- during the camp i learned that the fires in Scotland had gotten much worse and it made me really sad on an already emotional day
- this camp it's making me double down on why it's important to "do things together" and why [just] talking about it doesn't cut it: from the farm owner telling us about the young people that 'get it' as soon as they pull up potatoes from the ground... to the deep listening workshop that you can't describe to someone with words: you [just] gotta try it
- the toilets were awful at first but it's crazy how quickly i got used to it. it was awesome how EVERYTHING(!) was accounted for in this place: even our wee and poo was used for something
- i am so pleased we brought so many people and introduced them to the wider world of live coding+ and algorave+
amazing job #pastagang cant wait to watch the livestream when im home
set starts at 1:46:00

- was really cool hearing how they also had the 'do it' mantra at the farm
- the barn was this sacred place. hearing about its history / story and then shortly afterwards trying to find its natural resonance in peter's workshop / learning to fly in ali's workshop...... [—]
- i really want to do another errorcamp at the same place and i would love to bring my partner along
- similarly.... i did a lot of asking questions about algorave and i enjoyed hearing people go around in circles with their attempted answers.... i feel like i learned ten times more about algorave by algoraving together than by talking about algorave
- i have too many unstructured thoughts. maybe i should get used to doing one unstructured thoughts each day at multi-day events. botcamp is similar
