For me, the concept of a Road Trip meant finding an optional journey taken for one's enjoyment rather than a necessary one taken because of a job. This ruled out a couple of things like the constant business traveling in Spice & Wolf.
So, what was left? One of the greatest road trips in #anime history! That of Frieren and Fern starting on their "mere ten-year adventure" to find the place where one could speak with the dead that Frieren's mentor wrote about 1,000 years earlier.

Today's #anime was Do It Yourself!!
It's a fun little story about some high school girls who all join the DIY club. Along the way they make benches and decorations from seashells and eventually an entire treehouse!
Calm and relaxed, the show actually won quite a bit of respect among anime studios for its nice animation and watercolor-like backgrounds.
Plus the main character's name is Yua Serufu, and she is told multiple times to "Do it, Yua Serufu!" :p
For my #AniMangaAlsoRan, I'll go with the subtly spectacular storytelling in the end credits of Girls Band Cry.
In this sequence, we see Nina Iseri suggest a road trip to see a rival band, then all the various shenanigans she and her own bandmates get into on the road.
There's pet sitting, important hair cuts, arguments and reconciliations, goofball moments, and plenty more to enjoy in this delightfully artistic series of stills and postcard-like popups!
Have started on what I think is my biggest #anime compression yet. Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood. Some 64 episodes.
I've enlisted 4 computers to make this go quicker. Which means we have some stats!

(Keep in mind the MacBook Air is passively cooled and silent, while the Windows laptops are... air cooled and infinitely loud. Much louder than my desktop!)

Today's #anime was Fate/Stay Night: Unlimited Blade Works.
Specifically, showing young Shirou Emiya caught in the firestorm that engulfed several blocks of Fuyuki City in the aftermath of the 4th Holy Grail war.
Given that the main Fate story has 3 different Routes the plot can follow, Stay/Night, Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel, you can see this scene in all three anime. It's also at the end of the prequel, Fate/Zero, which shows how that firestorm occurred!

When runaways Hodaka Morishima and Hina Amano are nearly brought in off the streets of Tokyo by concerned police during a huge freak storm, Hina's attempts to use her strange mystical powers as a Sunshine Girl to distract them.
Usually Hina is able to pray for clear skies. But not this time.
Her urgent prayer works a little too well, and a poor, innocent, off-duty Truck-kun ends up paying the price thanks to a powerful burst of freak lightning!
Things have been going well between traveling merchant Kraft Lawrence and minor harvest god Holo the Wise Wolf. They'd overcome trading houses and smugglers and were now rather lovey-dovey... until another merchant and a shocking truth came between them.
Lawrence finds himself in a crowd trying to make a desperate play to crash a short sold decorative pyrite market in order to stop the fellow merchant from having the funds to purchase Holo from him!
For an alternate pick, how about that time Shiro Emiya calls his own residence and asks Rin Tohsaka, genius heir of one of the three most important and powerful mage families in Fate, to simply turn on the DVR and press record on a soon to air tv episode for him.
Everything goes JUST FINE, for Rin... especially with Archer nearby to "help" her.
Video games in #anime span everything from traditional consoles, to phone games and handhelds, all the way to full dive systems where dying in the game means you die in real life!
I'm gonna take a step or two back from that last one, and instead pick the safer round of VR Golf played between Evangeline Burton and Aoi Amawashi.
Even here, Eve's aggressive brute force style vs Aoi's calm and cheerful play leave them both desperate for yet another rematch.
I'll do another backup pick for this week's #AniMangaFoundIt. The literature club in #TooManyLosingHeroines serves as a nice meeting place for Kazuhiko Nukumizu and the various heroines he ends up shepherding when they find themselves on the losing side of love.
And, what does a high school literature club need? Books! And what do books need? Bookshelves!

People bow for lots of reasons. To show respect. To beg for mercy. To apologize.
They also bow in prayer.
Five people who definitely need the help of the gods are Rupa, Tomo Ebizuka, Subaru Awa, Momoka Kawaragi, and Nina Iseri.
Having finally managed to come together as the rock band Togenashi Togeari, they found that a lot of their existing fans didn't quite get the new, less angry sound of their first studio single.
Thus, the bowed prayers.
It's not all that hard to find a dumb phone in modern anime, but I wanted to shoot for something old school iconic. The 1st opening from NANA turned out to be exactly the kind of thing I was looking for. In one pic it had everything:
- A hard cd case with cool background art
- A compact disc player loaded with an awesome looking cd
- Cool wired headphones
- Nana Komatsu's fabulously pink dumb phone displaying 01 new messages.

I swear #MyDressupDarling is one of the most whole #anime there is! :p
For my main pick I'll go with Metallic Rouge.
On its face, this is a sci-fi story about revenge and liberation of an oppressed people. It had an awesome, weighty battle song in "Crimson Lightning". It had a Blade Runner-ish first episode that had excellent vibes. And then it just kinda went nowhere while getting bewilderingly more complex at the same time.
If the story had been trimmed a little, if the plot had been more solid, this could have been great! Oh well. :(
In #GodzillaSingularPoint, an unlikely crew of engineers, students, and eccentric inventors are key to stopping dinosaur-like monsters from destroying the world.
At one point, the young but highly intuitive graduate student Mei Kamino must comb through the research of the eccentric professor Misakioku Ashihara whose work on quantum space-time distortions is key to saving everyone.
His abandoned home has quite a few bookshelves!
Bows: Day 3/5
There lots of bow and arrows in #anime. But how many are fired by a Heroic Spirit named Archer?!
Wait... is he named Archer? Maybe it's all caps EMIYA or possibly Actually Satan?
Is he even a Heroic Spirit? Maybe he's a Counter Guardian... whatever that is?

All these big #AniMangaFoundIt libraries reminded me of another important set of bookshelves somewhere, under a starry sky: those of the Shaher Astronomy headquarters at the Justitia Observatory.
A remote control can look like anything, as members of the Future Gadget Labs demonstrate. Their first invention, Future Gadget #1, seems to be in the shape of a toy ray gun, but it is actually... a television remote control!
Sometimes it feels like subtle, thoughtful #anime get overlooked and lost among the long running series and flash in the pan seasonal shows.
Not this time!
Journal With Witch looks like it held strong. I thought it got a bit less focused as it went on, but its quality was unquestionable. Glad to see something so real yet off beat get some actual viewer recognition!

Having set herself up as THE pinnacle actress for others to strive for, Maya Tendo tries to make sure to always give her all in order to live up to her challengers' expectations.
Her giant blue hair bow can be considered one of her signature pieces of attire. She wears it almost constantly in her musical theater training, in her more casual outfits, and in both her school uniform and her magical Revue uniform, at which points she actually wears two bows!
A remote control can look like anything, as Brera Stern demonstrates. Usually, he pilots his advanced Guld Works VF-27 Lucifer variable fighter from inside the cockpit... except when he doesn't. In some cases, the cybernetically rebuilt Brera controls his fighter from afar making Brera himself the remote control!
(Actually, I think it's his stupid hair clip as he loses cybernetic control of the fighter in the series and movie when the hair clip is damaged...)
Bows: Day 2/5
I'll do my favoritest bow scene in #anime as a runner up at the end of the week. I've just talked about it too many times before.
Instead, have dream Kyosuke Kamijo putting to rest stressed out, lonely dream Hitomi Shizuki thanks to the heroic efforts of the Puella Magi Holy Quintet!

Kaoruko Hanayagi and Futaba Isurugi sit beneath the bright neon lights of a cabaret more at odds with each other than ever before. At issue in this stage play scene on the magical Stage of Fate is whether these two will stay together or go their separate ways.
Their Revue of Resentment is all about Futaba's newfound need to stand out on stage with her own talent vs Kaoruko's controlling codependence that would see them always together but never equals.
1st day of #MarathonTheGame's 2nd season is having some... issues. Mostly server related, with frequent, gear-losing disconnects, and all sorts of oddities when trying to finish a match. Like, I appreciate someone made the "Status Unknown" post-run screen... but that's kinda one of those "You should never see this error." type errors!
Other problem is those with more time to play last season start this season with purple gear. Sucks to get dunked on by those people literally game 1. :(
Akane Shinjo presses the button to request a bus stop while sharing a smile with her friend and classmate Rikka Takarada.
Akane's true identity is one of SSSS.Gridman's core plot points, but Rikka's is perhaps the #anime's most closely guarded secret. One that is so subtly revealed that many viewers might not even know of its existence.
