@EugestShirley@m.ai6yr.org @ai6yr@m.ai6yr.org the best part of the fair is when it got too hot for a pants shitting 300lb white octogenarian to take the stage and gaslight you into thinking this was all somehow a spectacular success when the portable toilets outnumbered the physical attendees.

Went to microcenter today and damn near collapsed the entire store when I refused to give my phone number and address...and the vty terminal style payment system literally could not complete the sale.
Come back to microcenter. Come back to 1993.

@arrrg@kolektiva.social there's a cogent argument that the reason water storage sites were targeted (nbd Iran is surrounded by five allies that can provide water and has desalination plants) was because of the use of half baked AI that interpreted the concrete structures as munitions caches or fortified bunkers.
That because Iran has downed nearly every mq9 surveillance drone that's crossed into it's airspace, the USA no longer has high resolution reconnaissance data to confirm or deny a targets actual nature and instead relies on much lower resolution geospatial intelligence.

@Perrin42@mastodon.social @gwynnion@mastodon.social sometimes I'll fire up google and search for something just to see the first page immediately come to life with the most procedurally generated, unhinged, affirmational garbage about a technical subject ive ever seen that borders on a threat to life and safety.
Other times I use the AI summary to sidestep NetApp and Cisco paywalls for documentation 😈

@daviddoes@mastodon.social @nixCraft@mastodon.social I was radicalized against AI when I tried to get a copy of the viral doner kebab recipe from tiktok and instead was served an AI slop rendition of it that included "add barbecue sauce for an extra kick" with a picture of a corned beef.

The USA just launched a full on attack of southern Iran during peace talks (surprising no one) and their immediate take was "yeah but we think it won't affect the peace talks in the slightest."
Sounds like a country that forgot Iran has geospatial intelligence and a full arsenal of missiles and drones.

The USA has become so absolutely incapable of compromise that negotiators have had to walk back the ceasefire agreement to a simple MoU (memorandum of understanding.).
And even that appears to be in jeopardy at the moment because the Cheeto in chief doesn't understand how to lose. The mans perfectly convinced that if we just blockade Iran for the rest of 2026 we will win. At the expense of collapsing the entire western economy.

The US war of aggression in Iran is effectively based on this:
The United States is absolutely desperate to affirm their deep petrostate commitment to keeping regional comprador states safe (which it cannot.) This includes safeguarding their ability to trade and ship petroleum (which they cannot.)
The MoU gives Iran the responsibility for planning and executing safe shipping lanes (including service fees.).
IF the united states capitulates to this agreement, they will lose petrostates. This will return the american dollar to 70s levels of inflation and ultimately crash the US economy without petrodollars to prop it up.
So the united states is trying to weasel out of the agreement by creating its own shipping lanes, a violation of the MoU

Paul fussel once famously remarked in his analysis of american class structure that poor people and the ultra rich were incredibly similar in that their personal preferences are nearly invincible to criticism. Wealthy people and poor people do not have the innate drive to signal success or prosperity to anyone. Their life is their own, to the extent they control anything outside their own interests.
The lower middle and middle class however will be the first to tell you all about it. They advertise their college on bumper stickers and exclusively use iphones and branded lifestyle products. You can make them spend money based on this inherent insecurity (the lack of advertised success). They will gladly entertain a Porsche they cannot afford.
The upper middle class he remarked is an asymptote. Theyre needlessly frugal to the point of frustrating local economies. Thry rarely own brands, and value consistency and quality over lifestyle branding. The upper middle class have cobbler and tailor shops in their phones, which are likely offbrand and old. They are also consistently less likely to be acutely aware of their class strata.

The USA is in the process of passing a 1.5 trillion dollar military budget and that might seem crazy but you must remember its only 2/3RDS of what we spent to lose the afghan war against the Taliban so that's a bargain as we move into the season of losing the Iran war 🙂

The nadier of the USA Iran war was when the USA, having lost many of its regional bases in comprador states, finally began asking China for military coalition assistance.
China is a Marxist Leninist country.
What the united States was engaged in was imperialism, the highest form of capitalism. China engages capitalism on the road to communism as though its a gas station, while the united States uses it as the bus it drives to nowhere.
China would never send military assistance to aid in an imperialist war. The idea that we even asked is a laughable incompetence that betrays the fact we know nothing about the governance of China despite there being an open constitution and a four volume book set.
