Last WE, it was #CanettesDeRuelle, a graffiti/mural festival in #Montreal.
And I'm again with 1600 pics to process. 😅
And here is a first pic showing Jenna (https://www.jennamtl.com). 🙂

@peter If I may. AI isn't the first time we get some "magic tooling that is doing a lot of work and users that don't understand the basics" (see Angular students that aren't capable to center a div without a npm package). It didn't broke our field. It's just another "layer of abstraction".
Don't give up and keep learning, good developers are (and will be) still needed, and rare. And it seems you have the good mindset.

I've just signed the mentoring chart of my French Engineering School, as an available mentor for students. 🙂
It's a new initiative that they are just trying to put together, and I find it exciting to be part of the first wave!
I'm really happy to see that they're trying to increase the network's effect that alumni can bring on the table. It was definitively lacking.

@iwritelike "show, don't tell" is maybe one of the best advice I've had, with another one : "consider your reader intelligent", and both works together : when you show something, you're telling something, but you consider your reader clever enough to get it by himself.

Interesting. This might make me come back to their Desktop app...

@NudelnAlDente@mstdn.social I've experienced the same lately... Fancy Cocktail bar also, with some "speakeasy gamification" to enter. At some point we had to find a "hint" on their Instagram and went into the same issue than you.
The issue is... youngsters do consider not having an Instagram account as completely absurd. It's totally possible that this way of forcing you to check their IG helps the business.

@iwritelike surely knowing the roots of some idea is useful. 🙂
On my side, I always saw this advice in a very basic way: the "tell" being a bit like how a political activist would talk to you "those are the good guys, those are the bad guys". The "show" is more like creating a believable situation that would illustrate those good and bad guys but without you stating it directly. So that the reader may (and should) converge to the same conclusion by themselves.
