I really need to be more discerning about the people I call "friend". I keep letting people around me abuse that term with people I show up for but they don't reciprocate in nearly any meaningful way.
I think I got so used to one-way relationships from running groups and events that I let that behavior sit and fester with me.
I finally removed one friend that I'd known for 5 years and they had never showed up to support me other than empty gestures like a hug and then speeding away at cons, never asking me to really join anything or be a part of their life. I'd say they even actively avoided me during VR conventions when we were both on too.
If we can't have a 1:1 conversation where you care enough to be honest with me, you're a parasite and not a friend. I shouldn't have to bend over backwards if in kind isn't happening either.

No, the simple act of loving people will not fix every issue in the world. That is a platitude that has been echoed for decades.
It takes true solidarity and respect for your fellow man and deplatforming of those who push platitudes to inflate their own ego and status instead of the simple act of love.
People aren't ready to hear that there is a dividing line in society that isn't whether you've been loved or not, it's greed and power. True love and respect comes from being able to take and give criticism back. One way love is parasitic. Anyone that tells you that you should just love people are just attention baiting and probably living in a place of privilege.

Why are we making what is essentially an fursuiter AI surveillance model in this fandom???

Literally just got hit up by a guy on Telegram that's basically doing furry convention room insurance with 22% and 10% service fees, and working with smaller cons that have approved this!!! I cannot make this shit up, this is landlord style skeezy shit. What are we doing in this fandom when people are trying to skim a bunch of money off the top for something that requires next to no effort???
Insane seeing a fellow autistic furry rely on AI to explain things to them and they wanted to argue with me about it being okay. Our brain is our strength, why would you outsource that to AI? Hoppers was really really good! I'm a little confused about the tone down on environmentalism stuff because I felt like the movie had a lot of that anyway, but this is one of the better furry movies for sure.
