I have a problem with writing where I think a sentence in my mind, and it is beautiful, and then proceed to write it missing important parts that make it awful on paper.

@anselmschueler @vnkr @mxk @Frank_Juston I think you pointed out the key though, just like you can't "force" workers to be reliable you can hold them accountable for actions like this, we just need to have a legal framework by which we can hold the corporations building the AI systems liable for the damages their tools cause civilly and possibly criminally.

I have been fairly critical of the current US congress but they might get one good thing done if they pass a law ending daylight savings time. It has already passed the house.

@jmax well if they can't at least be as responsible as an employee for their actions they shouldn't exist. The legal framework needs to be built whether AI survives it or not.
I happen to agree with you about the fact the LLM can't be safeguarded, but the agent service they interact with to take actions can, it is just classic programming and can be secured in classic ways. An LLM tries to invent a discount code, it is denied like a unprivileged employee would.
We might need to find a better phrase to replace "you have a big heart" because I can tell you from unfortunate experience that actually having a larger than normal heart isn't good.

Amazon's shopping overlord calculated that I am out of filters for my refrigerator, and it is absolutely correct, but what it failed to notice before sending me a notification today is that I ordered filters from Amazon yesterday and they were already delivered.
Having AI know me this well is frightening, but it knowing it doesn't know the full picture from data it has available seems worse somehow.

@PurpleJillybeans bummer, it was a slightly odd processor so I hope you find a solution. I think I had moved to AMD processors in those years near the end of and shortly after college so had no experience with the c3 other than reading about it in magazines. At least you are trying to get a transmeta running?
I was looking for names of wigs worn on parts of the body other than the head, why doesn't matter, and what I discovered is that seemingly only the merkin has a special name. Others have boring names of the wig form like: nape wig, moustache wig and beard wig. This seems like a prime opportunity to be creative and generate culture.
Our president, if I understand his quote correctly, just claimed that congress does not need to approve wars if the wars have a ceasefire periodically to "reset the clock". This is an absurd expansion of powers and if congress does not definitively rebuke it we can expect our dementia suffering warlord to drag us into endless wars :(

@JessicatheVIArtist this is awesome and I am so happy there are tools that you can use to perform your craft. In addition I can see this as something that would help me with my craft even though I am not low vision. This would be such a huge help for soldering electronic projects because it has a wide area of focus and sits higher from the desk, unlike the microscopes we otherwise use.

Cherry Obituary does taste like the nostalgic memory of a cherry that has passed without ever correctly representing any part of that cherry's actual life.
@TechConnectify how does it compare in price per load vs the walmart brand powder which I started using after watching your videos?
Also instructions on the new powder say "use one tablespoon per load" how does this work RE having a prewash detergent load?
(preemptive apology if I got the instructions wrong, my main memory they only gave one detergent measurement and no discussion of pre-wash detergent)

@TechConnectify when you said "I made this" and the thumbnail had a big arrow pointing to part of the car my first thought was that you do make interesting props for your videos and this isn't beyond my understanding of your capabilities it certainly seems to be the most complex piece you will have built. Then I realize you meant that you made the video.

@PurpleJillybeans I don't have any experience but I do wonder if maybe there is a windows driver from that era that tells windows how to properly use the via processor?
The president wants Jimmy Kimmel to be fired for a "call to violence" and I think that is fair if the president also resigns for all of his calls to violence before and during his job as president.
BTW, I don't think dark humor is anywhere near the same category of transgression as the presidents violent rhetoric that has already been proven to have called violence into action.
I hate when a browser turns off an extension because it is "dangerous" when in reality they are turning it off because it limits the company's ability to advertise to you.
