@moelassus@mastodon.social @ben@werd.social I wonder if someone could make the case in international law that such actions are crimes against humanity.

Have you ever wanted to learn how to edit wikipedia? I'll be hosting an in person event to teach people how to do so on May 2 at the #Kitchener public library. Sign up at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Kitchener,_Ontario_meetup_in_May_2026
Female #birds are underrepresented in the narrative about birdsong. They also sing to defend territory, apparently. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2026/apr/19/hidden-world-of-female-birdsong-book It always amazes me how #sexism gets transferred into animal research, as well.

@DeliaChristina considering the crazy increased risk of maternal death for black women in the US, this is horrifically evil.
If anyone was curious what is going through my head when I'm creating an article, I made a YouTube video from start to finish showing that process: https://youtu.be/vSduOU0ftzg (I'll emphasize this is a walkthrough and not a guide, although I do explain what I'm doing as I'm doing it). #wikipedia #tech

@OpenSexism@mastodon.world not a fan of AI, but this double standard is way too common. A woman will get punished for doing the exact same thing that would make a man be praised.

@KydiaMusic I wonder if some people are buying them simply to function as a collectible and with no intention of actually playing them? Records look cool by themselves.

@slowenough@mastodon.social @JakeOrlowitz@mastodon.social we haven't heard from anyone in the c-suite since May 24, which was quite a long time ago. It's hard to take their comments about listening at face value when there's that much of a delay.
Posting again now that May 2 is almost here. Anyone in #kitchener or #waterlooregion is welcome to attend my event tomorrow at the Kitchener Public library where I'll be teaching people how to edit Wikipedia. Sign up at https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Kitchener,_Ontario_meetup_in_May_2026
It's kind of funny that everytime I go to a doctor "just in case" when I feel like it's probably nothing, it actually is something, and every time I feel like I'm dying they're like nah, you're completely fine.

@chisop I've looked it up now that you've mentioned it and it's definitely an interesting concept, though.

@StevenSaus also it really bothers me that the woman in the photo seems to be wearing way too small of a bra. Seeing her skin fold like that causes me physical discomfort.
Replying to
@gotofritz @KydiaMusic that's crazy considering you can still buy them in Walmarts. I've definitely had to explain VHS to other people my age, though. I think I just have better early childhood memories.

@mayintoronto@beige.party @Lana@beige.party yeah, they even disssed his "sister" in the process. Saying he wrote much better papers. 👀

@OpenSexism@mastodon.world people will even use different words to describe the same behaviour. She's stubborn, he's determined. She's bossy, he's a leader. She's dramatic, he starts important conversations. She's aggressive, he takes initiative.

@annierau how do you do this? I don't want to be a weirdo and I'm assuming there's a proper process involved?
Replying to
@funcrunch @annierau oh no that's not what I was trying to do 😅. I wanted to maybe contact notable people in a not creepy way because a lot of biographies don't have images.
Replying to
@chisop I've never heard of that site before. My goal is visibility, so a platform that people use frequently is probably the best option.

@harry_wood@en.osm.town @simon@en.osm.town @wikimediafoundation@wikimedia.social I think there was an official account that mentioned me back when I won WOTY? But I don't feel like a crazy amount of scrolling atm
