Today, I asked an AI tool where I could find support for it. It gave me three incorrect URLs in sequence. AI is not ready for us. #AI #AIhallucinations

A11y folk: How do you help your clients remember the basic rules of accessibility for content creators? I have provided a written guide and in-person online training. Retention is still poor. When your client is already committed to accessibility, how do you help them to embrace accessibility as an ongoing effort. #Accessibility #a11y

@alexhall@mastodon.social VS Code's keyboard navigation can be so annoying. Unfortunately, VS Code is not upholding the MS keyboard shortcut convention of providing Alt + underlined letter, underlined letter, etc. combos for every menu option. There are still many combos available, but it's not complete. At least they figured out how to add Ctrl+Tab to switch between files in the editor.

@carstingaxion @111 Yes, that is a huge number. It may be at the scale that WP uses Meetup that they get a better rate per meetup.

@carstingaxion @111 I also just checked out the new plugin screen and they do feature plugins with fewer installs and reviews. I can see about getting GP featured there too.

@AlSweigart@mastodon.social Depends what you want to emphasize. Give that the higher contrast of black on white. (I prefer the first to emphasize the goal.)

While scanners can be helpful, nothing beats hiring an auditor to ensure accessibility.

@mhoye@cosocial.ca I love that. It wasn't till I looked it up that I found there were multiple versions.

@ahau@tribe.net To be fair, vague prompts increase the likelihood of hallucinations. In my case, It was a very clear prompt. How vague can a prompt be when you are asking for support for the product?

@ahau@tribe.net That's a good point. Scaling operations like AI is challenging and can cause unintended consequences. It reminds me a little of the Web 2.0 days. We had so much computing power plugged into an unprepared grid, San Francisco had regular blackouts. I think we can see similar growing pains in AI.
