I do wish Avi Lewis and the NDP good fortune as the NDP tries to rebuild and reassert itself into our federal conversations. We need a strong left wing party advocating for change. Because it is entirely absent right now.
Required reading for every Canadian.

"Privatize the upside. Socialize the guarantee.
That's Carney's $25B Canada Strong Fund.
New blog on who actually bears the losses on this "sovereign wealth fund," and what the fuck we're actually building when we say "nation-building.""

Imma just sitting here stunned at how many people are all in on the "Hey we don't need humans to do any of this anymore." AI bandwagon.
Have you thought that through to the end?
This. There a ton of businesses I don't know about because I don't use Facebook or Instagram.
I hold view that the CEO of Air Canada does not have to be bilingual, however, I also think that Air Canada should have a process in place to communicate on behalf of the CEO in French (or English) if the CEO happens to be unilingual.
"Whether it’s EVs, bikes, or even just public transit, the story is the same: the Ford government has been inept if not hostile when it comes to anything other than getting drivers in cars."

I have no idea what the
@gandersocial.ca
team is up to, but the app is nigh unusable for me.
It's like Facebook on Meth right now.
Are people posting things right now? I have no idea.
Is that post current? I have no idea.
Is this post from someone I follow?
I. Have. No. Idea.
I was hoping it would be BlueSky, but Canadian.
Instead they're reinventing what a social media interface should be, and I have no clue who they are designing that interface for. It is illogical and unusable.
It's not for the average person that's for sure.
Huh. New skill achieved. I can hum along note for note with the open source on hold music for the call I am on.

Idea. We need to do the same thing for transit. Since these contests always try to divert $$$ to road repair.

"Nominations open for worst bus service"
"Nominations open for must frustrating passenger train."
etc. etc.
Um. A single source of what now?
I'm experiencing a Babylon 5 "Ministry of Truth" flashback moment here.
I want to focus on the physical toll of Trumpism to our nation and our collective daily psyche.
To me, there’s actually a simple explanation for that heaviness: It’s the weight of the shift from “zero to non-zero.”
There are so many aspects of our daily life that we’d never had to weigh before; so many new possible horrors that we have to carry in our minds each day.

"Space-based AI data centers represent an ambitious vision with genuine potential. The physics of space work: solar power is abundant, cooling is natural..."
Um. Might want to check on the actual physics on that one.
"Moody’s Analytics’ model has raised its recession outlook for the next 12 months to 48.6%. Goldman Sachs boosted its estimate to 30%. Wilmington Trust has the odds at 45%, while EY Parthenon has it at 40%"
Anyone else think that even at that level, they're too optimistic that it won't happen?
