@tommi@pan.rent @dweb@social.coop @mai@social.coop I never liked that "Web3" came to mean "blockchain". The future of the internet shouldn't be built on blockchain. Humans will ruin and abuse anything with financial incentive. Self-certifying p2p protocols (git, bittorrent, ipfs) is where we should want to be instead.

@cwebber This problem is going to become worse over time, too. I fear we've only seen the tip of the iceberg for what cyber warfare will become. Apps in general will need to get more distributed to adapt, not just the social networks. I can't/won't wait for the tooling to "just appear", and I haven't been. AT was built on ipfs primitives, those same primitives can be used to build p2p applications in general. The rest is designing the UX and DX to balance expectation and convenience.

@futurebird@sauropods.win It works well to assume that AI has very little meaningful capability to bring to the table, but that it has a lot of capacity for whatever it CAN do. The solution, then, is for the human to bring their capability to the AI, and for the AI to bring its' capacity to the human.

@homegrown@social.growyourown.services The client-server model is not enough anymore. We all have computers. They all talk to each other. Paying to scale single servers is doing it the short-term-easy but long-term-hard way. We need to do the short-term-hard but long-term-easy solution, or the problem will keep appearing every time we try again.
