I feel like there is a mismatch in the world of dance, especially for hip-hop but I think it applies to other styles as well. On one side, it's a race for speed. Faster, faster, faster.You have teachers teaching faster and faster choreos, you have big comps that push the fast fast, you have those intensive where it's all *faster*. You're never faster enough and when you can't as fast ... you're left behind. And in turn everything looks... the same. It's so hard to distinguish one teacher from another, they all look... fast. And then you look at some of "those people have a name in the community for their style" kind of people and they dance... so much slower, not crawling, but the right speed, they never give the "faster, faster faster" feeling and yet they give so much more feeling. And then I'm like... where and how this mismatch was born? Then of course, you can say I'm whining because I'm not fast enough... but at the same time, why everything must be so fast? Whatever the song, it's fast. #dance

I know that it's important representation in medias and all, but at the same time, the majority of the people on the screen share... nothing with me. I feel you, I get what you mean, it's just something I cannot be hassled to care anymore XD My public IG has to be public if I want my photography to be (un)seen, so... yeah people follow and I don't get any interactions? Whatever. I used to do some pruning of followers in my public IGs but it's just too much work for no gain. I have a public account where I haven't posted in 1+ year and new people still follow it (no other interaction) for god sake knows why XD I do vet for my private IG as well as for this account because I like a slightly more control on who sees what. But at the end of the day... whatever. It's like "how much of my mental energy and time should I spend for this? Less." People don't want to interact, whatever. Yes, it sucks, I agree, but there is nothing I can do. And trust me, I wish people interacted with my photography more but between algorithms and shitty federations... honestly, whatever.
