mastodon 4.8.0-nightly.2026-10-06Postdoc at CSUF working on Cosmic Explorer 🌌
Formerly University of Glasgow PhD working on multi-messenger astronomy, gravitational wave cosmology and LIGO detector calibration.
I also do art! I enjoy painting, making cute space-themed stickers and knitting.
I sometimes post nice to nice-ish photos and blurry photos of my cat.

With the news being out that GEO600 will cease operations at the end of the year, if anyone who is/was involved with it wants a high res copy of my travel poster to print don't hesitate to get in touch!
(I also have a version with the infamous tractor!)

I still need to sort through my photos and edit them properly but the night sky in Joshua Tree National Park was something else.
After giving a talk at APS last week, I gave a talk to my old group at Glasgow uni today about the work we've been doing on site evaluation for Cosmic Explorer.
Very nostalgic to give a talk in KB 312 and revisit the view that distracted me during so many undergrad astronomy lectures!
I'm 10+ years wiser now but I gotta admit, it's still a little bit distracting...
I went looking for that dramatic winter sunrise light I saw a year ago near the Cobbler, and I found it. A December morning in the Alps of Arrochar - hard to choose only four photos!

RE: @ASleepyWanderer@mastodon.online
I'll email these soon, it's been a hectic few weeks, sorry!
I drove an automatic for the first time (also drove on the right for the first time!) the other day and I gotta say... I did NOT like it. So little control compared to a manual car!
Je chope pas souvent de coups de soleil mais là j'en ai un qui pèle tellement que ça me donne limite faim on dirait la peau sur du sauciflard
(oui c'est dégueulasse)
@RVLara23@mastodon.social I told a friend here that maybe if Americans drove manuals they'd text less while driving 😩
