The Viking Broad Seax was making good progress but the welds failed. Let's do the forge welding all over again.

PREMIERE IN 23 MINUTES
Today is the 50th Anniversary of the #Viking 1 landing on #Mars. Shortly after this historic touchdown, the first Extraterrestrial life detection experiment in history found life on the Red Planet.
It found life on both the Viking 1 and 2 landers.

Enjoy this collection of Erling Haaland amazing plays!
Apparently his insane flexibility and incredible technical skills are thanks to playing handball and doing track and field in childhood. Even moves that seem comical at first glance are only possible because of his extraordinary core strength and agility.

I’m ar Överselö Church on the island Selaön in lake Mälaren. There are six runestones here by the church. One of them, Sö 207, mentions travels to England. It has been attributed to the rune carver Balle, though there is no signature. A large part of the inscription is missing, as the left side of the stone has broken off.
The day started off very sunny, but now it has started to rain. I’m trying to wait it out under a tree and having a snack. I still have five more stones to photograph.
Transliteration:
kuþr… … faþur sin · fur · hfila · hn · til · iklans · kuþ halbi · sil hns
Normalization:
Guð… … faður sinn. For hæfila hann til Ænglands. Guð hialpi sal hans.
Translation:
Guð-… … his father. He competently travelled to England. May God help his soul.

People have strange heroic ideas about the Viking Period. The reason is that they specifically read *heroic* literature, much of it written as historical semi-fiction hundreds of years later. It's like basing your ideas about the 1100s on Walter Scott.
Viking Period archaeology in Scandinavia is deeply unheroic. It concerns itself overwhelmingly with the non-Viking activities of farmers.
Most runestones deal with modest land inheritance.
