By now you have been led to believe that agent swarms are inevitable and that only the frontier labs know what's best for humanity. The Hugging Face compromise was not about agents going rogue. To explain what happened, I am narrating a short video that interprets the incident in terms of human incentives and security engineering. I hope I can provide a more rational perspective compared to the fear mongering and doomsday scenarios the news outlets prefer to cover. Fear sells models and fear sells news. I keep coming back to security invariants as they would have helped prevent this whole fiasco. Basic security engineering and infrastructure hygiene still go a long way even when facing the prevalent narrative of AI agents going rogue. They didn't really. https://youtu.be/B7SGWOtt9rA #AI #Cybersecurity #SecurityInvariants
