I wanted something similar to ViewComponent in Hanami so I handrolled something that feels close enough for now.
app/views/component.rb: defines aViews::Component#localsmethod that makes instance variables and methods available as a hashapp/views/scope.rb: defines aViews::Scope#render_componentmethod that callsrenderon the respective partial of a component inapp/templates/componentsand spreads the component'sComponent#localsapp/views/components/*.rb: defines individual component Ruby classesapp/templates/components/_*.html.erb: defines individual component templates
And the usage in Hanami templates looks like:
<%= render_component Components::Button.new(text: "Click me", variant: :secondary) %>
So far, so good!
