@justcameheretosay@beige.party @KrissyKat@hoosier.social There's a long history of disgruntled Republicans using the initiative process in Washington State to push their agenda, since they have been in the minority in the state legislature for so long. This will go precisely nowhere in this comfortably blue state.

Sipsy looking picturesque in the forest late #caturday entry

@Sheril@mastodon.social It's good this is being detailed but I think the focus of the discussion should be about how a US president keeps making hiring decisions this bad and never pays any real price for it.

@ShadowJonathan@tech.lgbt I would go from town to town evangelizing instant runoff voting. Then I might wax poetic about growing wine grapes without fungicide.

@emd@cosocial.ca looks like you got a lot of great suggestions already. I didn't see any yet that mentioned assessing the amount of sunlight your site receives. You can get further faster by matching the plants to the available sunlight. For example, Sword Fern, Pacific Bleeding Heart and rhododendron do well in shaded locations, while Lupine and Goldenrod flourish in sunny spots. This book is helpful in understanding which plants are native: https://lonepinebooks.com/product/plants-of-the-pacific-northwest-coast-8/

@emd@cosocial.ca What kind of help are you interested in? Ideas, advice, or native plants?

@zeenix@toot.cat "where are you going?" "Europe" "Okay, and where will you be departing from?" "umm, Europe."

@CoastalCoasting@universeodon.com Around the same time Trois Coleurs Rouge came out and there's some striking opera solos in it, especially Do Not Take Another Man's Wife II https://youtu.be/pptQYp0Bm9E?si=rVnFZjmni6u6KVqy

RE: https://mastodon.world/@WConcertHall/116185812241326883 happening now! beautiful music.

@25kV I know just the feeling. That said I don't think VZ is that guy. Former TV comic actor. I'm thinking "blue dress lady" is his wife and he's waiting for her to have a moment with "black dress lady" before moving to the next part of the day.

@johncarlosbaez@mathstodon.xyz Thank goodness we're closer to whale than flea, I needed that affirmation today.

@laescude@mastodon.cr Welcome! I traveled to CR once. Great experience. Love the value placed on biodiversity.

@MarkSquiresWine@mastodon.social I recently heard that only the top 10%, by wealth, of US adults are doing essentially all of the consumption of non essential goods. Historically I think there were way more people with income free for modest luxuries like wine. I don't know what the right amount of wine would be but I think part of the contraction in purchasing can be attributed to greater wealth inequality vs in decades past.

@sundogplanets@mastodon.social I used to run in a park where a guy sometimes practiced bagpipes. From anywhere in the park I could hear him playing and it was glorious.
