Programming is no longer about being able to code. It's that simple. If you've taught yourself, then your effort would have been better spent going to dance school. If you've gone to university, then your degree is as useful as one in Law or English or Marine Biology. You're now next in line to be a barista.
Prompt engineering is the way to go. In fact, in some ways, prompt engineering is better than coding. Just like with coding, you have to think about ways to craft your writing to ensure the best output. In fact, I like to code using Gemini, feed that into Chat, put that through Grok, and finally through Claude Code to ensure it's the best it can be.
There is no more point learning how to build your own OS from scratch when you can write a beautiful, stunning prompt from scratch and feed that to Gemini.
No more "learn to code". Instead it should be "learn to Claude".
Here's the thing. Anti-LLM users are like the anti-vaxxers of the tech world. When you say you want software without contributions from LLMs, you are exactly the same as those crazies who want "untainted" blood from people who did not take the Covid-19 vaccine. It makes you look like you belong in the Dark Ages. Sam Altman and Dr Edward Jenner are both dedicated to advancing the health of our civilisation, unlike you.
More men should embrace homosexuality. Why?
It's simple: men have more earning potential. A household headed by two men has greater earning potential than a heterosexual household.
Over their lifetime, women earn anywhere between 20-30% less than men. Not having a woman in your life increases the value of your household.
The time for economic homosexuality is now.
Someone posted their first AI-generated image yesterday. It wasn't perfect. The hands were weird. The lighting was off. They were proud of it.
And the comments were exactly what you'd expect. "Slop." "This isn't art." "You didn't make anything."
You know what that person did? They showed up. They tried a new tool. They shared something they made with strangers on the internet knowing full well someone might tear it apart. That takes more guts than most of the critics will ever have.
Every creative you admire was once the person posting something imperfect. The ones tearing people down for learning in public were never brave enough to start.
“Making music with AI is like calling yourself a chef because you ordered food in a restaurant.”
No.
It’s more like writing the recipe, choosing every ingredient, deciding the cooking method and timing, tasting every version, and refining it until it’s right.
I’m not ordering food. I’m merely crafting the dish.
As it's #PrideMonth, it's important to note that we should also be grateful to #allies, such as myself. Without people like me, there would be no Pride at all. Think about all the straight people whose job it is to provide permits for parades.
Of course, celebrating the queer community is important, but if Pride is for everyone, then we should also celebrate hardworking #allies like me.
I once had a colleague who was #homosexual and I wasn't even frightened of him at all. That takes #courage.
Oracle's recent announcement that it will take control of TikTok's US business is a welcome one. The synergy between a youth-focused social media platform and HR software will surprise you. For example, I am looking forward to getting rid of underperforming staff by sending them an advert through the TikTok shop.
As some employers decide to shun "wokeness", we should be mindful of those employees and organisations that choose to be more welcoming places to be.
I have decided to supercharge our DEI policies by forcibly marginalising our employees.
For example, I will now get gender re-assignment surgery twice, thereby becoming a bisexual transgender man.
The quality of your posting is determined by the amount of subposts you make. "Why them?" creates victimhood. "What can I post on Fediblock?" creates growth. "How can I subpost this?" creates opportunity. Change your questions, change your life.
I got caught cheating on my wife with the Head of HR at a Coldplay concert. It's something that should not happen to people like me.
But through adversity comes a moment of challenge. What did this teach me? What lessons can you take away from a moment in the public eye like this?
Here's what getting put on the kisscam taught me about B2B sales.
